I get the idea of trying to get one more out with the current reliever in the game if there's an apparently favorable matchup due to what side of the plate the hitter takes his stance in, but that strategy sure seems to have blown up alot in CC's face - particularly when the next reliever brought into the inning occasionally resembles a gas can.
