Brett Anderson re-signs with Brewers - 1-year / $2.5 million

If he stays healthy, he should have a solid season especially with our improved infield defense. Our improved defense from last year to this year with the return of Cain and addition of Wong is substantial.

Agreed big time, I also like it at $2.5 much better than $5. Makes it easier to move on from him if he's ineffective or if young guys outplay him. Adding him makes me want a really solid defender at 3b that much more than before. That makes 4 likely opening rotation SP with very high GB rates.

Happy with this. Was decent enough last year, seemed like a good presence. A left side of the infield of Wong-Arcia-Urias will work really well with the groundball approach too.

Walker though isnt a #3. He's pretty much a hopeful #4. Anderson is a 4 that upside pitches as a 3. Anderson has a proven track record when he's healthy of quality seasons. Odorizzi is just too expensive and likely wants too many years.

Just my opinion but I think Lindblom is a lock to be in the rotation unless he is absolutely abysmal in spring training.
