And of course Hiura would still manage to strike out.

Keston Hiura with two strikes on him is almost an automatic out.

Truth. Here's a real feast for the eyes: Keston Hiura results after 2 strikes.

Shaw is strong. It did not look like he got that at all.

Shaw is hitting out of his mind.

I posted before the season I thought he would be a big failure. I hope he keeps this up and I am very wrong.

Shaw’s HR could be used as evidence to rebut the argument that the ball has been deadened. I can’t believe he hit one into the bullpen with that swing.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If you were in a coma for the 2019 and 2020 season and you were watching Shaw now it would look like he's just progressing like we thought he would after 2017 and 2018.

To be fair, he's batting .324. So his failure rate is .676.

I don't have the statcast metrics. It looked to me like Garcia's ball was smoked. Hit harder than Shaw's. My eyes must still be adjusting to something like standard baseball.

I agree. No way did I think Shaw's was a homerun but I thought Garcia's was or at least would have been close but it wasn't even near the warning track.

Shaw's was 101.9, Garcia's 90.5.

Scary thing about Burnes is that he's clearly not at his best today. Missing a couple spots, falling behind some hitters. It's just that his "ok" is still better than most guys at their best.

I didn’t know you were allowed to just walk down to first- doesn’t he need to do some sort of interpretive art dance to demonstrate his displeasure?
