here's a quick and friendly reminder for everyone. game threads are getting pretty chirpy lately. If you disagree with someone's hot take, point out why. don't get salty that someone disagrees with your take or opinion.

let's not be telling people to calm down or walk away from their keyboards.

we're all baseball fans, and (hopefully) all brewer fans. let's keep the tone civil here.

I hear you, but is it too much to ask that game threads be, you know, about the GAME, and not a referendum on Yelich’s contract, or similar hot-button topics, every time? There are different threads for that stuff.

I'm going to the game tonight for my sister's birthday and so far this year have been perfect.  I'm thinking of betting the life savings especially with Cy Burnes on the bump.

When I went last night, I gave myself three hours to watch. I had a seven a.m. meeting this morning, and a 90-minute drive home. Three hour mark hit as the eighth inning ended. Walked to the car, got on the interstate, my nephew says, “Hey, they won!” We thought he was messing with us.

Or about "settling scores" with other posters. I know I come for honest discussion about the game with fellow die-hards, not for constant negative crap like "Cain/McCutchen/Yelich/Hiura/Counsell suck, Brewers aren't good/are going to lose, etc."

On a more positive note, I'm very much looking forward to attending tonight's game. Feels like I will be able to enjoy it a little more than I probably would've had the Brewers not come from behind last night.

Marcus Stroman getting shelled by Paul Goldschmidt and co. right now, despite being staked out to an early 3-0 lead. The ball is absolutely flying out of Wrigley today.

Just went to online BF site. Posts, news, online stuff all in, very light, faded, almost unreadable print. Anyone else have this problem??

Could we also not declare that a poster is not right or WRONG about an opinion they make. It really is a bummer when such an absolute response is received to an opinion and really shuts down any type of conversation.

Well, CC really believes hiura can’t hit righties and that mccutchen is great against them.  By game 54 that’s a frustrating fact.

McCutchen batting cleanup against a righty who he's 1-8 against and Hiura sitting against a righty who he's had some success against.  Not digging this lineup.

CC's lineup decisions make more sense once you learn that he bases them all on the stats database from MLB 13: The Show (2013)

I was watching the replay of Peterson's last hit. (at work by five - had to go to bed...)  Looks like the Robin Yount designed walls did their job.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

I think the best approach is to treat it on an opinion by opinion basis.

Like if one person had the opinion the Brewers were good so far this year with RISP and another had the opinion they were bad so far this year with RISP, we could look it up & see their 126 wRC+ with RISP ranks 7th in MLB.

Now of course that doesn’t mean they are a true talent 126 wRC+ with RISP team, or that they will maintain that pace/ranking all season, but someone who thinks they’ve been bad so far with RISP wouldn’t have much of a case.

What about when the poster is absolutely wrong?

Particularly since the Brewers are supposed to be big on analytics. Maybe they have a proprietary "grittiness" metric?

Agreed and that inludes Folly 412 and SRB comments too.

Still having light print problem, and I've signed on and off this site several times today.
