Being a non married with no kids decent earner at tax time. My married friends with kids let me know how much I get screwed each tax season.

I never understand this, is the cost of kids less than that of a tax credit/break?

Very far from it...

You have kids and that means you get a tax break... why?

I also pay for schools for those kids as well.

I don't have a problem with paying taxes but it's dumb that I pay more because I choose to not have kids, that's all.

And all those stimulus checks that I didn't get, too.

If it makes you feel any better, I pay $30,000/year for daycare for my two year old.

Makes me think that in home child care makes a mint in the northwest. ;)

Yup and you benefit from doing that.

Not as much as I would if parents paid for their own kids education.

I’m always amazed people actually have this belief.

Then again, some people really believe the world is flat…so anything is possible.Thankfully none of them work for NASA.

I'm always amazed that people are so offended when an obvious grift is pointed out to them.

I don't mind paying for schools honestly but the tax credits/breaks are dumb as most are.

The whole tax system is a joke. When I was in college my mom claimed me as a dependent so she could take a big deduction because there was some flooding in the city where I was going to school so I technically lived there. Nevermind the flooding was nowhere near the school and happened over the summer when I wasn't even there.

Sitting at the Bucks game at the end of the row.  I got up AT LEAST 20 times during the game for people to make their way to pee, drink, or simply be merry.  Nobody in front of me had to do that.  Oh, and there were kids that were kicking our chairs behind us.

It also bothers me when this people get up at a Brewers game.  At least, wait for a dead ball / timeout, or between innings.

Up, down, up, down, up, down, wash, rinse, repeat.

What are those clouds doing up there????!!!!!

This is always my complaint t Brewers games, it's a constant thing and annoying as hell.  I also love actually missing game action while people are standing, shuffling along in the rows in front of me, on their way out (or back in) to get food, use restrooms, or whatever.

Back in the day, the ushers didn't let you go back to your seat until the inning ended or between half innings.  Wish they would start doing this again.

Watching spring training games and everyone is bundled up in jackets and hats because OMG it's 60 degrees outside! I get it but still.

I've been to Spring Training.  The Arizona air is dry.  Therefore, 60 degrees really feels like 50.  I was wearing a windbreaker with the temps in the upper 70's.

It's bugging me that in our fantasy draft we are allowed 2 keepers.  Somehow ESPN glitched and one team had their keepers go in the second and third round and they were able to snag a 1st round player too.  It was also weird that it snaked the second round which I've never seen in a keeper round.  So now that team has Trea Turner, Aaron Judge AND Gerrit Cole.  The only reason Trea Turner was even available was our league as a keep limit of 3.  I guess that guy is going to have to make a tough decision next year.

I can book a week-long trip to Hawaii for a family of four for less than a trip to Disney World, airfare included. I am getting vetoed on going to Hawaii.

Wow.  That's really awful.  My wife outvotes me 1-1 all the time, so I can understand.  I think that's how successful marriages are built.  Hawaii is where we went for our honeymoon and we want to get back there again some day.  Unfortunately, we have 2 year-old and are expecting identical twins any day now, so it will be 5-10 years out.

Your comment is funnier when you remove the context.

Same as my brother, identical twins and the sibling two years older.

My cat has dandruff and bumps on its back, maybe a weight thing. Skipping golfing today to go to the vet, but it absolutely hates the carrier and will tear you up to not get in it. Last time I actually got it there it took three vet assistants to get it back in.

Congratulations!!!!  We were in line for twins but it didn't work out that way.

Haha.  I'm coming up on my 9 year anniversary of getting outvoted 1-1, so even ignoring the pending twins, it is true.

Our plan was to have 2 kids and my wife was on the fence...now that it is 3 our whole world is about to turn upside down.  My wife's sanity is already upside-down.  We are lucky we can get 3 carseats to fit in our current vehicle but we are going to probably have to buy a minivan.  I also bought a bike rack for 4 bikes last spring (whoops!).  We do already have a double wide bike trailer, so that wasn't a complete waste.  Now we've got to look into hiring a nanny and all that fun stuff.  Kids are expensive...especially since the "hand-me-down" stuff only accounts for one of them.  I don't care what kind of "tax break" there is.  It's a net pay more.

Thanks for the congrats.  I just wish there was a way to sort of fast-forward the first 6 months so I can sleep a little bit better and they aren't going to be 100% helpless but more like 90% helpless.

As far as basketball  games go my buddy's an usher at Fiserv. He said for Bucks games they tried to do a stop in play thing like hockey where you couldn’t walk to your seat during game action and it lasted the first half of the first game before it was abandoned. Most ushers weren't assertive enough to enforce it which resulted in the ones who were stopping. He also said they tried it and it worked for most of the Marquette games that season because their fans actually watch the game and don't move around as much.

Sports Illustrated has totally gone down the toilet. I've been a subscriber for about 20 years and I always look forward to the preview issues. At one time they were awesome with each team getting a 2 page spread and a breakdown of the whole roster. They've slowly become less and less every year and this year's MLB preview is by far the worst. Each DIVISION gets a few paragraphs and the analysis is terrible as whoever wrote them has apparently only ever heard of batting average and ERA. Of course, the 2023 NFL season has it's own multipage preview in the same issue because why not.

Sports Illustrated, like many print magazines, are basically extinct.  What does exist is small articles that point you to go to their digital version, include their daily stuff in their website and, probably, Twitter.

i, too, have subscribed since the early 90s and renewed my subscription about a month before they decided to make it a monthly.  I had renewed for two years, and was at least happy that they are honoring my purchase for 104 issues, so my subscription doesn’t run out now until 2028 or something like that. Lol

They did this in Seattle when I was there in '16. It was wonderful.

It's more humorous than bugging me. I'm looking to replace some decorative fencing. The Menards ad has one of the styles I like on sale this coming week. $24.69 a panel on sale with a regular price of $24.99. That is not enough of a sale price to make me go out of my way to purchase it this week.
