I'd rather give a chance to a journeyman like Rea with no real baggage or big personality when the team is already seemingly gelling from a personality and togetherness standpoint (at least as far as we can tell as observers.) Bum's ceiling isn't very high at this point and even though he's a name, doesn't mean he's any better than trying to find depth elsewhere.

Obviously the Brewers nor any team will claim him. However, the starting pitching options are not great right now so if Burnes has to miss a couple of starts I wouldn't mind as a fill in. Wouldn't expect much but didn't expect much of Chi Chi Gonzalez or Jason Alexander either but somebody has to pitch.

He used to get ticked when guys hit homers off him. Now he gets ticked when guys don't react correctly to foul balls:

There's likely still talent to be mined there, and somebody will take a chance on him at league minimum salary. If his ego would allow him to spend some time with the pitch lab and work it out in the minors for a period of starts, I'd consider it. But we know that'd he never do that, so it's a moot point. Pass.

This is a great point too.  Team seems to be in high spirits and gelling nicely.  I wouldn't want to disrupt that either.

Why would anyone want this turd on the Brewers? Below is the only connection to the Brewers I want out of this MLB Mount Rushmore D-Bag:

I assume it happened in an all star game at some point but a battery of Bummy and Yadi would probably cause the universe to implode on itself due to an over abundance of dbaggery.

Bumhole is the case study for why throwing guys almost 250 innings every year and signing free agent pitchers to long term deals is a bad idea. His arm was toast before he even hit 30.

Exactly, his next destination is a golf outing with Felix Hernandez, who just turned 37 earlier this month.

He's a loose cannon, but there is a pitching coach or two on the other 29 teams that believes he can fix him. It has happened before.

But I also saw where the Diamondbacks are going to eat 34 million. They must really be done with him.

He isn't going to go play in the minors, so a bit of a moot point.

He's basically Dallas Keuchel from last year. He was DFA'd after a couple terrible seasons, given one chance and was equally as terrible, and has been unemployed since. I'm sure there's at least one team that will give the BumBum a shot and after he shows he still sucks he'll never be heard from again.

Until he is the Cardinals manager, seems like the perfect fit to be honest.

The only way he'd make any sense for us if the team felt is stuff might play up in the bullpen and they get him for league minimum. We don't have a lot of lefties so it could be a possible cheap alternative. I'm not in favor of it because I agree team chemistry is too good right now to mess with and the bullpen is doing quite well. I'm just saying it's the only way I could see picking him up would make sense from the team's perspective.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I wonder if he would be better as a reliever than a starter.  But I don’t want the Brewers to try and find that out unless he is coming over at the league minimum.

This guy is an absolute pile of garbage. It would be hard to stomach him on the roster if he was good. He's not, so easy pass.
