Basing fandom on "financially invested" doesn't compute with me.

I can not have more than one favorite team in any sport.  Just makes no sense to me.  I see people all the time saying they are fans of more than one team, but that just isn't possible.  Its BREWERS or die!  I hate everyone else!

This is pretty much true.  I have lots of teams that I cheer for and 'kinda' like and I 'hope they win this game I'm watching'...But I'm only emotionally invested in 1 team from each sport...well, in baseball, football, and college bball,  The Bucks fall into the teams I like but just don't really care about.  No matter how much I try, the love just isn't there.

I kinda like the Twins now that they are in a different League from the Crew.  But it's not like I'm ever going on Twins Daily (except maybe today and tomorrow).

A Twins sweep is more likely.  Doesn't seem to matter... we don't play the Twins well. 9-13 vs the Twins the last 5 years... 😟

A 22 game sample over 5 years is basically irrelevant.  Today is a more or less a coin flip game and the Brewers are favorites tomorrow (-142).  For the series:

Brewers win:

0: 22%

1: 49%

2: 29%

It's contextual. If the Twins were one game up on the Guardians, I'd lean toward them. But the current situation has the Brewers in the more vulnerable position so I'm leaning in their direction.

In the end, I want both teams to win their division and advance in the postseason.

If it got to the World Series? Well, that's tricky. I'm far more financially invested in the Twins' success (Twins Daily is several magnitude larger than Brewer Fanatic) but the Brewers have never won a World series so that'd be a whole different level of fun.

Truly a conundrum - I understand

I only have one team in each professional sport … Brewers, Bucks, & Packers

I love two college teams - Wisconsin & Tennessee … they’ve only played each other a few times … I can’t watch or choose one over the other

That’s interesting … I assume because it has existed longer - correct?

Do the Twins have more followers & fans than the Brewers?
(I assume both are small market teams)

Do you anticipate the Brewer Fanatic website to grow to a similar size as Twins Daily?

How is your Cubs website doing?

I’m not sure what our overall record is against the Twins the past 20 years or so but it can’t be great. Never like playing these guys.

Man I rememeber those Mauer/Morneau/Hunter Twins teams just OWNING the Brewers in the mid 2000s.

I'm still not over the 1981 Garden State Bowl. I still remember Willie Gault taking a kickoff to the house.

And yet it seems that 100% of the time we need (and/or should) beat the Twins... we get swept.  Yes, I'm speaking with my heart, not my slide ruler.

Honestly, the Twins still owe us for 1987, IMO.  Not that I'm holding grudges at all... for a long time... for a WS victory... and we didn't even get in the playoffs... despite a better record... OK, I'm done now...

I remember the game … I was a junior in college … I couldn’t watch … but somehow I did

Gault had world-class speed - no doubt

The Twins are a bigger market, for sure. Minnesota and Wisconsin are similar in size but where the Twins get to spread out across Iowa and the Dakotas, the Brewers are squeezed by the Twins from the west and the Cubs/Cardinals from the south.

Twins Daily is currently in its... 12th season? I think? So yeah, it's been around for a lot longer.

If Brewer Fanatic ever gets to 75% of Twins Daily's current size, I'd be thrilled. But had you asked me six years ago, I would have been ecstatic if Twins Daily was half its current size so... *shrugs*

Twins Daily is a bit of a unicorn. Its size and scope punches so far above the weight class of a mid-market upper midwestern team. During the height of the Carlos Correa saga in Dec/Jan, one tracking website had Twins Daily as the 19th busiest baseball website on the internet (it more regularly sits in the 40-ish range). The 19th most popular baseball website on the entire internet. My mind still reels at that thought.

Anderson hit a HR against Ober earlier in the season. I'd imagine we'll see him in the lineup tonight with Monasterio cooling off.

Good call!
