MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers will hold a press conference this morning to make what they are calling a “significant business announcement”.

Not much is known about what the announcement will be, though it is not likely related to the on-going discussions over stadium funding.

Let the speculation begin, I don't think it has to do with any FA promotions or the WTMJ article already said it wasn't related the stadium funding. I'm guessing some kind of new sponsorship agreement.

I would imagine its probably a sponsorship deal for a patch on the jerseys next season.

Edit: Extremely unlikely they would announce something like this during the season as it would cause quite the distraction so probably nothing this extreme.

My gut instinct feels its 
a) Sponsor patch on sleeve
b) Some ownership change (Mark moving ownership to his sons)
c) Some sort of baseball district around AmFam announcement (Highly unlikely, if this were to happen it probably be announced with the stadium funding)

If it's to announce a new sponsor...probably to get some buzz going for the sponsor.

Arm patch. My guess is SC Johnson. I've seen that Scrubbin Bubbles Brewers mascot too many times last couple weeks on TV during the games...

I was really surprised they waited this long to have a patch. I'm surprised they are announcing it now with all the lease talks and boo hoo they need our money or else they will move. It will look bad for the Brewers to say they need all of our money to keep the team here...while taking a cool $10-20 million from a sponsor.

My guess it's something like that.

If Scrubby the mascot Scrubbing Bubble adorns every jersey going forward, I will be either disappointed or forever laughing. 

Whatever it is had better not disrupt the team's reasonably decent recent mojo.

Said it rivals the amount paid by American Family for naming rights. Anyone know about how much that is?

I'm not a fan of the concept, but this is far from the worst of the mlb team patches that have emerged to date.
