Has anyone seen any names (and rankings) that the Brewers are linked to for the January 2024 signings?  I found some lists of players  but no mention of teams the players are associated with like we used to see.

Just read up on the guys ranked ~20-30. Then when we announce we signed 2-3 of them, you'll be ahead of the curve...

But seriously, I thought we were really early on one guy. A SS, Diego...something? I might be a year early, but I thought someone posted on here that we'd agreed to a deal with a kid who was either 14 or just turned 15.

If he compares to Jeferson Quero at that age, wouldn't that suggest he's only getting $10,000-$50,000?

IIRC, Quero was highly regarded soon after signing, but not necessarily before.

I think Quero got more than that, but wasn’t one of the highest bonuses. If I recall, he was getting some of the most enthusiastic scouting reports upon signing, although that might not have been the case at the time he actually agreed to the bonus.

I was going to point out some Brewers items but @Smichaelis9 did some of the heavy lifting:

Love seeing us get three of the Top 50 international prospects again this year - including the #12 ranked kid.  Also love seeing us going after these athletic SS's that can also grow into different positions a few years down the road.

How many of the top 50 were listed as shortstops?

Typically the most voluminous position at this stage - the orgs don't know what they really have until they start getting that DSL or stateside lower levels work.  They essentially don't list '2B' and there are so few pure 3B prospects at these ages (only two or three listed in this class) so keep that in mind.

Anywho, 23 SS listed in the top 50

Majority of HS players who play the IF are also labeled as SS.  Usually your best and most athletic are either playing SS or CF.  So nearly every OF in HS and internationally are labeled either as SS or CF even if they will never play a single inning at SS or CF in their baseball careers.

It is also the same with pitchers everyone is a SP there are very few who are labeled as RP.

From the write ups on MLB Pipeline, both Quintana and Made are 16 years old and are both already 6’1” and 6’2” switch hitters.

And Quintana being 1 of 6 in the top 20 at BA with trending up arrows.

Both are good defensively and should have a good chance to stick at SS. Love those switch-hitters as well.

Klentak not missing a beat from the great job Mike Groopman did with us before leaving for Boston.

Curt gives us a brief glimpse of Corobo's work behind the plate. Man, he looks big for 16. Certainly knows how to get up as the ball approaches home plate it would appear.

Fangraphs has Quintana 11th, Pena 23rd and Made 34th. In the short writeups on their prospect board, they referred to Pena as "straight out of Brewers' infield prospect central casting," describing him as an Eric Brown clone.

Made is also listed at 6-1 in the chart but the writeup has him 5-8. Either he had a growth spurt after the writeup was done or some notes got mixed up.

Both BA & Pipeline have Made listed at 6’ 1”.

Someone help me with this. In the last few years how many Brewer international signees with a bonus below $50000 have turned out to be highly rated prospects? I believe there are some but just cant think of any.

Juan Baez was signed for $10K and is a ranked prospect. I believe Uribe signed for a small amount.
