Public opinion is strongly on Machado's side with this one.

I'm no fan of Machado but after 3 minutes or so of looking at the video and reading about what all happened this honestly seems pretty mild. Even if he did it on purpose and I would say that it very likely was, he knew the net was there and threw it into the net. I'd say it's had its intended effect.

Again, not a fan of Machado whatsoever but I don't find this to be that serious. If it had been the Brewers dugout I'd be pretty upset about it, things are more amplified when it happens to your team. As a more neutral observer I don't think it's that big an issue. For now, things could keep escalating and that wouldn't be a good thing (though it might be entertaining).

Sometimes it really does feel like whoever the Brewers draw becomes the magic team in the playoffs. The Mets sure have it right now. Of course, the Brewers played better than the Phillies have these three games. Small consolation.

It's kinda' like the times when I -- single and never-married -- met a woman I was romantically interested in, it almost always led to her getting married to someone else a couple/few years later. Date me, get married (to someone else). Play and beat the Brewers in the playoffs, get to the World Series. 😁

If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.

Huh, I literally though that I was that guy.  It happened at least five times in my younger/collegiate years.

Funny tidbit: it only happened to me twice and both were to the same guy. I did break the streak and am now happily married. One year I hope the Brewers do the same at some point.

Dodgers division series exit becoming as common as our WC exit at least.

If they lose tonight that would make them 2 W - 9 L in their last 11 playoff games.

Just another team out there faux competing I guess.

Might have to really go for it and push payroll to $350M next year.

I dunno, maybe Friedman’s stuff just doesn’t work in the playoffs (global pandemic seasons notwithstanding)

Wonder if Padres, Mets, Royals, and Tigers all winning and taking out the Dodgers, Yankees, and Phillies in the process (and depriving the baseball world of Judge and Ohtani in the WS) would be enough to get MLB to reconsider the playoff format....

Also, crazy how these teams are all "faux competing" by winning their divisions.

The Yankees, Dodgers, and Phillies, have won 20 World Series in my lifetime and 11 since the Brewers came into existence.

So, I’m not going to feel sorry for them or their fans when they whine about not having won a WS in 10 or 15 years.

It really sucks we didn't beat the Mets. I know the Phillies were 4-2 against us, but I think our pitching matched up very well against their LHH heavy lineup. Much better matchup than the RHH heavy Mets lineup was.
