Obviously 95% of this falls on Devin but the Brewers had multiple chances to add runs in this game and failed over and over again with RISP like we've seen so many times this season.

They left themselves with very little margin for error in the 9th and it was enough margin for Devin to blow it.

The toughest part for me was watching Contreras labor through his ABs with little chance of doing anything in his condition. How many runners did he strand alone tonight?

Weird take alert:

When the 9th started, Devin had already done his psych up routine, yelling into his hat etc.

Then the technical issue that took a couple minutes to resolve.

Did this have anything to do with it?  Did that disrupt him enough to throw him off?

I may be making excuses, but I think that as small of a thing as it was, it may have caused his collapse.

...huh?

What in the hell more could you have asked from Murphy?

Not pull peralta and myers so early. Not let Williams clearly crap his pants and not do anything while it happens

Can we all agree that this form of Wild Card series is complete horse****?

It’s for the $$$$. It was fine before. Instead of the 1 game play in, do a series of 3 instead for the 2 wild card teams.

The worst part about all this is Jesse freaking Winker getting to celebrate on our field tonight.

Yeah...I don't wish injuries on a guy, but I wouldn't mind if he hurt his elbow for sticking it out there on a pitch 2 inches inside.

It makes it very hard to care year in and year out when this happens again and again

We invest in the dream with hope and that deep nostalgic yearning. We accept the results regardless. We come back for another season filled with dreams. These things happen - to us more than other fanbases, yes, absolutely. But, perhaps one year we'll get that elusive crown.

I could see it, I just don't think he has the mentality for the big moment. Or maybe it's a Milwaukee thing and as soon as he leaves he'll be fine who knows?

They both were on the verge of losing it.  It was 100% Williams fault.

This is...ridiculous.

Murphy couldn't have handled this game any better.

I get why people don't like negativity around here, but sometimes you just have to look and see that it's a result of failure on the big stage again and again and again to the point where you're just conditioned to it.

It doesn't pay to get emotionally invested in the Brewers. You might as well pour champagne and celebrate when they win a division, just like they do.

Five times I've been in the stadium for a road team series clincher against this worthless franchise . Brewers have three playoff series wins in 55 years. It's getting difficult to watch.

Hader choked for the Astros so it's probably not just a Milwaukee thing.

Walking someone up 2 runs in the 9th to lead off the inning sucks though and the 0-2 pitch to Brandon was right down the middle

Murphy pushed all of the right buttons in this game even with a surprising Peralta appearance.  The 9th inning that is all on Devin.  He choked and that is on him you can't blame Murphy for that where every single manager would have brought in Devin in that situation.

Yep.    He just blew.   He can go play for someone else next year.    Hopefully some dumb team will give us a bunch of good players.

Yeah. I questioned Murphy's moves earlier in the game but they worked. I was 100% on board with Williams in the 9th. He just sucked.

I agree and I want Murphy gone. He did everything correctly tonight and his closer let the team down. Walking the leadoff batter. Going 0-2 on Nimmo and giving up hit. Going 3-1 on Alonzo. Why are you 3-1 on the power bat? Just a complete meltdown and it's a one way ticket out of town for him. He can't come back.
