From the outside, not a lot, which is why I don't often get fired up about a manager, good or bad. The organization knows MUCH more about the good and bad of a manager than any of us ever will.

WHAT!!???!  There's at least  half-dozen posters here who could do a better job! <irony alert>

Camera keeps showing sad Devers and Mayer like they just lost a playoff series or something

Haha, they kept panning over to Devers looking emo during Yelich's interview last night too.

Can only imagine the indignity of getting swept by this Milwaukee team.

Devers isn't a happy guy right now. He's being jerked around by the front office and also catching hell from the (often unfair and unreasonable) Boston media.

He appears to check all of the “other” boxes … I believe those awesome personality & inspirational traits are severely offset by his inability to manage his pitching staff

Frelick’s my favorite current Brewers player

I believe his 9th inning hit last night to tie the game was huge … it sounded like a Molitor hit back in the day

His OF assist (throes to 3rd base last night) was also a key to victory

Frelick showed up ready to play again today - truly a quality MLB player

I hope Boston gets so frustrated with him that they are willing to pay $200M of his salary & trade him to Milwaukee to play 3rd base … & DH in a year or two. 😊

A man can dream!

Feel like most of his misery is of his own making.

I get the old front office promised him he'd get to play 3rd base, but they are gone and Devers is one of the worst defensive 3B of the advanced metrics era with -62 DRS | -21 FRV.

You already got your $313M so suck it up and say "I'm willing to do whatever is best for the team."

Breslow isn't handling it well. Devers never truly made a fuss about third base before the season began, the Boston media just took a snippet and turned it into a thing.

But it wouldn't have killed Breslow to pick up the phone or even text Devers that Bregman was a possibility.

The real fireworks began when Casas went down and the Red Sox tried to get Devers to play first after telling him to "throw his glove away" after the Bregman signing.

While Devers is making a ton of money, he still deserves to be told what's going on and not have constant crap dropped on him out of nowhere.

There must be a better metaphor available somewhere 😁

WARNING: old white man ranting incoming

My least favorite phrase for a MLB player or anyone receiving a paycheck from an employer: “I deserve” …

Circumstances change. Injuries happen. As a member of a team - you do whatever is asked of you … period.

I don’t believe this 2025 Brewers team is playoff caliber - but I love their spunk & tenacity (Murphy qualities, no doubt)

If by some miracle Milwaukee qualifies for the playoffs - I don’t believe this team can win it all this year

That said: I believe this is an extremely important year as young players grow & learn “how to win” in the big leagues

I also believe this team can compete as soon as 2026 & will be a premiere team in 2027-2030

I get that Raffy could be handling this better but good managers prepare their team the best they can. The Red Sox aren't doing this with their best player, which means they're not managing this well.

If you don't want a public kerfuffle about something, you keep the discussion out of the public eye by making sure everybody is aware of the situation and hopefully on the same page.

That was about as gift wrapped as they come. But you have to put the ball in play to make those things happen. Sal’s AB in the 10th was a thing of beauty.

As a journalism major & former college newspaper editor, I want to give you kudos for your use of the word “kerfuffle” … simply brilliant! 👏💪👏🏆
