Get Bauers some work.   He hasn’t pitched in a while

But then he couldn't pitch the All-Star game.

The error extended the inning, but it wasn't like the runs scored on the error. It still required the team to string together some hits.

Yup. Good teams take advantage of those opportunities.

Brewers also lead MLB in infield hits and are 2nd in the NL in reach on error so they create their own luck to some extent in that regard.

Don't know much about the draft but should be interesting to see who Brewers add to the farm. Who they pick could make some guys available to move for a big bat.

Freddy is 11-4 (if this lead holds) with a 2.66 ERA going into the break. I know Miz is all the talk for good reason, but Peralta doesn’t really get enough love for a low key Cy Young candidate.

That’s because some people want to trade him……lol 😂

[blue]That's big talk about some who isn't an "Ace" and is a 2-3 at best.[/blue]

Brice Turang is my favorite interview in as long as I can remember. It’s like he’s trying to read cue cards through a haze of pot smoke. Absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, no need to mess around. Seeming like an IL stint because what better time, when you can back date to today?

We'll see how they handle it and what the MRI says. Hopefully nothing a couple of weeks can't fix, and then he's back in true Sal form before August gets too far along.

I think he has won 6 straight starts and has been a huge part of the teams surge to the top of the NL. I am not sure even us brewer fans are giving him enough love for the season he is having.

Giving some guys a little more rest coming out of the break………I’m sure fans will be level headed and calm in their reactions…. …..

Vaughn should be dh today. The Contreras thing is mind boggling.

Unless he's injured Vaughn should be in the line up everyday no matter what till he cools off.

On a 5-man rotation that lines up Peralta to pitch the last game of the Cubs series on 7/30.  I'm guessing Mis is the 5th starter post ASB, as that lines him up to pitch the 1st game of the Cubs series on 7/28.

That leaves Priester to pitch the 2nd game of the Cubs series, in which I'll bet they use Hall as the opener so that it isn't three RHP three days in a row.

I'll bite. I don't think Peralta is a true ace. He seems like a great guy, and a good player. 3 is a stretch. He's a very good 2 IMO.

He was great today, but typically he really labors to get through 5 innings. It takes him too many pitches to get guys out. It sounds like cherry picking a flaw, which I suppose it is, but it's what keeps him beneath the upper echelon of guys in my opinion.

I think most would agree that not consistently getting deep in games has kept him off that top level and he does trail the top guys in IP again this season. That said, he is on pace for a 5-6 WAR season and that would be ace level in my book.

IMO this is splitting hairs, but I suppose it’s subjective and depends on your definition.

The upper echelon you seem to be describing would only include maybe 2 or 3 guys in the NL. Wheeler and Skenes for sure and then maybe Webb.

Freddy is top 10 or 15 in most pitching categories.
