Spencer thinks Ebel may be overslot

Thought Spencer thought Ebel would be overslot in the 2nd round not at 32?

Yeah I am fairly confident both will go under-slot. AND, I am wondering aloud if this isn't a tactic to lure more upside HS players eventually to battle NIL money?

Yeah I was thinking we are somewhere around $1M underslot through 2 picks with Fischer around $750K and Ebel around $250K under slot though with Ebel I really have no clue.

How far underslot do we think we will be after the first two picks?

Fischer should be under, no? As a position player, he isn't going back to college to maybe be drafted higher as a 22yo.

Burke, Bitoni, Wilken are all moreso in play now.

Potentially- but also assign more players to the corner infield depth now with Ebel and Fischer to join Adams, Bitonti, Boeve, Burke and Wilken - so 7 guys to try to take 3-4 spots in the future roster (1B, 3B, DH, and bench bat). Good to have serious competition to push each other, protect the team against an injury or a player stalling out, or a trade chip. Maybe one of them is the next LaPorta - traded with high value for a game changing player.

Wilken's my pick for that role. First-round pedigree, the plus power... but I'm not sold due to the high K rate.

If Fischer gets shoved to A+ immediately this Appleton roster in the 2nd half is going to be box office worthy with the expected call ups arriving with him...

Carolina won't be crying with Ebel there...

I am fully invested in not getting my crush in LHP Jack Bauer. He struggles to throw strikes but Yerlin has prepared for any and all outcomes. I was built for the journey

So many infielders in Carolina!

I was really high on Ryan Mitchell. Thought the Rays would take him for sure, as they had been linked to him, but now he's a Cardinal. That's why it can be depressing getting attached to any prospect before we draft them.

I think this was about where he was expected to go and he's a junior, so I don't know if he's too under slot here.

Longenhagen had Thompson at 25. Law had him at 33. He'll likely come in around that range's value.

He’s a lefty. We need lefties.
