In a continued (but rarely successful, ha) effort to limit our mega-Transaction thread to the, you know, actual transactions, yesterday's commentary has been shifted to the Sunday thread where we say daily "utilized for any minor league news (on that day). You'll find the comments there, and feel free to use this Monday thread to continue the discussions as news breaks.

I hope Eric Hasse rakes in Nashville because Anthony Seigler is actually noticeably worse.  Seigler's MLB start has been just about as unimpressive as you can get.

Curt Hogg beat me to it, but Luis Peña is also headed to Appleton.  Adamczewski will be next up, but I haven’t heard any confirmation of that to this point.

With all this movement in High A, will be a roster place for Andrew Fishcher or he will assigned to the Mudcats?

This might be a dumb question but what is the point of assigning guys to the ACL at this point when their season is over?  I know they are still playing down there in instructional league but it's not "official" baseball.

A guess...

There's a limit of how many players you can roster on stateside MiLB teams. You must have to have everyone on a roster or IL or something.

I'm sorry but Made getting promoted, and not Adamczewski, is dumb.

😅

I understand your sentiments here as you may have read. I think the factors at play are:

(1) Prospect pedigree. This is what it is. It happens in every level of sports.

(2) Positional versatility - Made is the more dynamic younger athlete who can play all across the infield with legitimate high end upside at the crucial SS position. Josh, to date, is purely a 2B and DH.

(3) Low-A games under the belt - Josh has been injured and missed a number of games in both Low-A stints. Despite the jaw dropping production, the Brewers may want to see him stay healthy for a period of time.

If we are coming from a strict offensive production POV, there wasn't a Mudcat on the roster (before these promotions) more impactful than Adamczewski. We all know it.
The good thing here is, however, knowing Josh's work ethic and general mode of operation: he isn't going to flinch or take any of this in any negative type of way. He'll be happy for his former teammates and he'll keep focusing on his craft.

Only thing I could think of -- funny enough -- was for Made's D.  If they want a shortstop, and consider him the best.

(especially if Garcia is going up to Biloxi, and they are going to put Guiliarte on the back burner)

Along with the other reasons mentioned, it is possible that the organization thought the month in high A would be more beneficial to Made than Adamczewski, give him an exposure to higher level pitching and things to work on heading into the offseason that ironically might not benefit the more advanced bat of Adamczewski as much.

My guess is that once Adamczewski does make it to high-A that he probably won't be there long and then they'll send him to Biloxi.  Made could end up spending more time in high-A when it's all said and done.

I'm sorry you're suggesting Made could end up getting demoted back to Carolina?

I know they’ve said that Pena needs someone pushing him and that he and Made are a package deal.

Pena deserves the promotion, and maybe Made is tagging along.

Crazy DSL Blue 15-5 victory, combining with Red Sox Red for 17 hits (8 for Blue), 26 walks (16 for Blue), 5 HBPs (4 for Blue).

CF Brailyn Antunez (3-for-5, walk, 5 RBIs, 2 SBs) smacked his first professional homer, of the 3-run variety in the 8th inning.

Blue went 9-for-9 on stolen base attempts, including 3 by RF Carlos Done (2-for-5, walk, HBP, 2 RBIs).

DSL Brewers Gold were out-hit 15-11, but went 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position to grab a 10-9 home victory over DSL Rojos.

Trailing 8-2 halfway through the 6th inning, the Golden Men put across 4 runs in each of the 6th and 7th innings to grab a 10-8 advantage.

C Isais Chavez (3-for-3, double, 2 walks, 2 RBIs) walked to spark the 6th inning rally, then doubled in a run the following inning to cut the deficit to 8-7. He scored on a balk for a 9-8 lead.

LF Alexander Frias (3-for-5, RBI) and DH Nicholas Barrios (2-for-3, triple, sac fly, 2 RBIs, SB) also had big days.

Haase.

They aren't really comparable roster spots though, they're not using Seigler as a catcher.

Nice to see the DSL Squads sweep. Only 2 1/2 weeks of DSL season remain. How the season just trudges along and then <Boom!> the aCL and DSL are over. Never ceases to amaze my report-writing addled brain.

As of right now both squads are on the outside looking in to the DSL Post-Season picture. Though, it is realistic if the DSL Brewers Blue (or gold, but to a much leaser extent) got on a hot streak they could feasibly sneak into one of those final three spots of the 8-Team Wild Card group. As of today, they are only a couple 2-3 G out of that last place.

What kind of alternate universe is this in 2025 - with DSL squads hitting and winning, and the other affiliated clubs struggling (with injuries and depletions catching up)....

Good that there are draft picks and promotions to hopefully try to revive the affiliated clubs for the next month.

Oh year and there is some big league club too 😉

Well, as the Big Club (and those early April Shuckers)  reminded us: One week does not a season make. Last week was pretty dang poor. BUT, that was just a single series and a single week. Plenty of landing strip left to put that in the rearview.
