I follow enough barstool and I am pretty familiar with Frank and his cadence/delivery but I did not understand 75% of what he just said lol

Glad the Brewers are on fire

The Packers look awful & uninspired tonight in their preseason opener

That's because it's preseason and wholly irrelevant and shouldn't be acknowledged

If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.

It's a bit more important for the Jets because they're trying to build an identity and they sure seem to be taking on the traits that their head coach had in Detroit.

Losing is no big deal

Getting trounced & playing with no energy matters

I understand that preseason games don’t count & is simply a time to evaluate players

The brewers come into every game knowing they are going to win and the other team feels like they have to be perfect and they just screw up.   It’s insane at this point

I wonder if there is a sense of near invincibility setting in among the players. It can be a fine line between overconfidence (“just roll the helmets out there”) and proper belief in oneself. But feeling that every game is winnable if each player simply does his job—and not someone else’s—falls on the right side of that line. With these multiple winning streaks and lack of big blowout losses lately, I get the vibe that Murphy has instilled that mindset with everyone on the roster.

I don’t want everybody to start going crazy about playoff results yet but this season will be memorable no matter what happens in the playoffs

I don’t remember a brewers teams that just went out and won every game they played.   It’s just fun to follow at this point

in addition it’s a middle finger to everyone else’s style and the “only way to play” the game.    People are losing their minds about us and it’s enjoyable

I’ve never seen a team take advantage of another teams mistakes more than the Brewers do.  If you don’t make the play, the Brewers are putting up a crooked number on you.  It’s incredible.

Lowered last year's 23.7% strikeout rate to 20% so far this year and we're in the top third of the league..

The less extreme launch angles and emphasis on putting the ball in play has been a huge help this year

It’s getting to be where you can’t really call this a “run” anymore. At some point, you just have to accept this is a great team.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks but it would be nice if yelich changed his game a little.   Maybe he’d be more consistent

Yeah, The Discourse will happen in October, like always. But who cares?

This team rules. Forever.

We won, but we got out-homered 3 to 2. I'm losing confidence in this team.

The early 80's Brewers were my on ramp to Brewer fandom. But this team is special. It's a lunch pail crew with great pitching. This season is amazing. This is not Harvey's Wallbangers. But honestly it resembles the 82 Cardinals (which makes me almost vomit in my throat). But it's a fair comparison.

This is my take as well……maybe it’s just because everything is going well right now……..but in the last 3 months…….if you make a mistake……the Brewers punish you…..and on the flip side……the brewers almost never give a game away………if you beat them…..you’ve usually earned it.

I have also been vomiting realizing how much we are like a lot of Cardinal teams of my lifetime. And I like it.

At this point, I am willing to say throw Monasterio some DH work. He has been a consistent barrel if not base hit. Let Yelich reset on the bench for a series…because you sure as heck can’t sit Vaughn or Collins…they have earned everything…and at base pay. Contreras catching instead of DH is gonna always be best.

I'll take it.

Maybe an odd question, is there a way to find out who leads the league in errors against them? Trying to quantify and qualify the Brewers putting the bat on the ball and above average base running putting pressure on opponents..

Believe BRef has what you’re looking for. Brewers were tied with Miami at 31 reach on errors before tonight.

That same leaderboard also showing Milwaukee with an MLB best 34 RS% (percentage of base runners who eventually score).

The Mets lost the game tonite. But solo HRs by three very heavily-paid guys earned them approximately two/thirds of a point in the all-important NMQ (needle-mover quotient).

The ABs by Frelick & Collins in the 7th inning--both making contact after falling behind 0-2--were pure guts. Just so rewarding to watch.

Juan Soto makes about half of the entire Brewers payroll.

Nice seeing the K to end the game.
