RHP Chad Patrick gave up 5 long balls in his last two Nashville starts. Lotta hangers. Not wall scrapers. Here's hoping he was just 'working on things' and he gives us an 2025 MLB Logan Henderson type performance.

Weather looks dicey, but I'm betting the league and the Cubs really want this one in tonight. We'll see if they can push through. Radar seems to clear up around 9-10 (meaning only rain and not thunderstorms), so I suppose they could start then if the Wrigleyville rules allow.

Honestly, a PPD is not the worst thing in the world from a Brewers perspective, especially with G1 in the bank, although a later in the week DH does not sound that fun either.

Not sure the Cubs actually have an incentive to get this one in tonight given their bullpen situation following the shortened start.

I can't believe the game hasn't been called yet. The tarp was just pulled onto the field. They start letting people in soon and also gotta pay vendors for what I'd say is 50/50 chance at best to get the game in. And with the Cubs history of calling games vs us, this is very odd. But I got nothing to do tonight, so I'll wait it out as long as needed!

I'm sure MLB will do whatever the Cubs ask them to do.*

*Just kidding.**

I would like the Brewers to step on the Cubs' throat tonight but a rainout wouldn't be the worst thing for the Brewers, either. Selfishly I just want to watch more baseball but I doubt it.

What is the deal with Shelby Miller?

I know he was horrible in his last outing but as far as I know he is still on the roster. But it seems like he wasn’t a candidate to help out yesterday.

Are they afraid to use him or saving him for something.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Assuming they are going to play, they might be able to get 60-90 minutes in, then have a rain delay, and then resume after that. Plan pitching accordingly...

He’s coming off an injury so im sure they don’t want to overwork him.   Yesterday was just a debacle because meyers should have just finished that game.   He was doing fine.     When you are up 7-0 you use Anderson and save miller for the next game?

The home team makes the decision whether or not to start a game.

Once it starts it’s in the hands of the umpires.

Though there's only a 10% chance of that.

I’m not talking about any specific situation, but they said yesterday that they only had 2 pitchers available in the bullpen.

Maybe they wanted him to be available to pitch in the Cubs series so didn’t want to use him yesterday. But if he can only pitch an inning a week he’s not helping anything.

According to Murphy they are being careful with him on back to backs with him just coming back from injury..

That is why he wasn’t available yesterday.

im sure that limitation won’t be on going for all that much longer but they know what they are doing.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

I agree with this. Everyone on Sunday was talking about the BP being Myers, Anderson, and ???????????. If they needed to use a 3rd arm I suspect it would've been Miller.

Miller's last outing was three up three down with two strikeouts on Saturday.

His horrible outing was two appearances ago on August 13th.

His first two outings with the Brewers went seven up, six down with the only batter reaching via dropped third strike.

He pitched 3.2 IP over the eight days between 0809 and 0816.
