Oh, is that what that's from? I thought it was the untucking of the shirts.

Considering it came from the whole epicenter of the era of the “Cardinal Way,” I think it is of a piece of the same mindset you’re describing.

Would be much better having Cortes going 5 and being in Miz like Ashby for multiple innings than have Lockridge coming off the bench once or twice a week

The Brewers are still an MLB best 18 W - 6 L since the trade deadline, 2.5 games ahead of PHI.

That includes a 3 W - 1 L record in the four games started by Misio and his fill ins.

How much better do you think they could have realistically been? 19 W - 5 L instead?

He will be shut down before the playoffs he’s already surpassed his innings pitched in any season as a pro and there’s 5 weeks of regular season games left

Not a chance.

He gave up 4 hits, 1 which should have been an error and the other a bloop double and 1 walk.

he struck out 10 against a very good offensive lineup yet people are complaining again

Unless he's injured, he will most certainly not be completely shut down before the end of the season

He’s already 20 innings over last year’s total. Unless they ride him hard that’s 20-30 innings left for the year. So what a bunch of four inning starts? Make the bullpen cover 5 innings once a week? Move him to the pen or shut him down. It’s what’s best for the team

Are we really going to make hating the skipping a thing?

I'm not.  I'm fine with it.  He's just a big dork.  He'll probably stop at some point but it doesn't bother me at all.

With today's game he's 9.2 innings over last year's total. Not 20. At least try to get your numbers close to right if you're going to have a fit.

Could use some offense against the Arizona long relievers…..

Time to see if Myers can be effective again in relief. The added split-change (?) has seemed to be a new weapon. Need a good couple innings tonight from him.

We must have starters that can go six or seven innings on occasion

We are wearing the bullpen arms out during this 19 games in 18 days stretch

No one seems to step up like Rea used to do

The board is frisky this evening. I kinda dig the liveliness here, even if I’d like to buy everybody a Coke and a smile.

No soda for me … but thanks 😉

I suspect this is correct.  I was interested to see what they'd do with him in this stretch of 19 games in 18 days but they apparently concluded they couldn't artificially limit his innings/pitches to save his arm.

I do think they'll take him out of the rotation at some point if they can rather than turn him into an opener.  How he'll transition to bullpen work is above my paygrade.  But I just don't see them leaving him in the rotation for 5 or 6 more starts and then possibly in the playoffs.  We'll see I guess.

How wonderful it would be for Myers (one of my favorites) to finish this game & save the bullpen arms for the next few games
