Milwaukee Brewers To Remain On Fan Duel Sports -- Now contract terminated

Posted

Here is my situation. I have subscribed to MLB.tv for several years now. The renewal happens in February. My $149 renewal went through. They want $99 for the Brewers now. I called and asked to get the $199 bundle (MLB and Brewers) and save the extra $50 that it would cost to add the Brewers (MLB $149 and Brewers $99). They created a case, as the phone support reps say that they cannot approve that. I have gotten no response, except for an email that said my ticket would be closed automatically within 24 hours.

That is pretty bad that they won't provide Brewers coverage for the $50 extra, just another reason why to never have auto renewal as the loyal customers are treated like crap.

I have been getting MLB through T-Mobile for free for a number of years so not too bad to pay $99 and get every MLB game including the Brewers.(minus national games on Apple and who knows where else)

Channel 308 is working for me, advertising the next game!

Same here.  I should be fine tomorrow.

Just curious, is it still possible to stream Brewer games with a Spectrum subscription? I've been limping off my dad's spectrum account for years and would like to continue if possible.

Maybe but I wouldn’t count on it.

According to Artificial Intelligence, you don't need the sports package to get the Brewers on Spectrum.

Don’t see it on the guide

I don’t think it’s been activated as an actual channel yet.  670 doesn’t even exist according to my receiver’s “add channels” menu option

I'm not sure this is right, the way I'm reading it is it will be charged monthly and even though they do not say it (it is strangely worded on their website) I would assume you can cancel at any time. So you wouldn't have to do it for the full 12 months.

When I looked up the FAQ I saw this:
image.png.0f5c8057c11d4d3ac498afe20da328a7.png

Since it's charged monthly there will be a billing date every month.

In any case, it looks like they are offering a free trial for MLB+, I would suggest signing up for that and reading the email they send you regarding renewal.

Thanks for the input.  Cues that I might not be able to cancel MLB+ without paying for a full 12 months were 1) the description of the package on the website saying, "Monthly billing twelve months per year", and 2) when clicking Buy Now, the renewal terms on the next page saying, "renews with monthly billing twelve months per year".  With both spots going out of their way to mention "twelve months per year", I'm cynically thinking you get locked in for 12 payments.

Free trial was a good idea, but apparently I'm not eligible.  Maybe because I did a free trial 2 years ago before signing up initially.  "You have already redeemed this offer. It will not be applied to the order."

Anyways, took the plunge on the monthly plan, will set a reminder for October and worry about cancelling then.  Currently watching MLB Network on my smart TV, and all set to stream Brewers Radio Network tomorrow, so bring on the 2026 season!

Update: I called again, and they are canceling my current subscription and refunding me the $149 so I can buy the $199 package. She said, "we've refunded your money, you should call your credit card company if you are not seeing it." I checked my card, no activity. Then I got an email confirming the refund from MLB. It was time stamped. The refund was granted during my phone call. Gee, no wonder my CC company hadn't gotten the refund yet. I'd kind of like that confirmation before I spend another $200.

Bottom line, I got what I wanted. Go Brewers!

Have we figured out why I cannot stream with Spectrum? I’m on the go a ton for work. But It says I need to be connected to home wifi. Never had this issue before but I have a feeling it’s because of pure greed.

Appears you have to be connected to home wifi. Which is garbage for guys like me that need to stream most of the games on the go.

Just a quick note on my experience.  if this has been mentioned already, I apologize, just wanted to get some info out there.  I had been piggybacking off of a relatives DIRECTV the last couple years after we cut the cord so that we could watch the games on the app.  Decided this year to bite the bullet and do the Brewers.tv option so I didn't have to screen share.  When I went to pay, it showed that if you are a member of GovX, you receive 35% off.  So, for those of you who are active-duty military, veterans, first responders, or government employees, if you do not have a verified GovX account, go ahead and sign up, verify through ID.me, and get your discount.  Went from paying $99.99 to just over $68 for the year after taxes.

Honestly not terrible and it was all covered by new national TV deals.

The Cardinals likely lost 3x as much per year.

Yes the revenue loss was a problem, but to the point about the Cardinals and others 20 million isn't nearly as big of a percentage of the total team revenue as it is for other teams. It is only 1/7 of our payroll

The Cardinals no longer have the ability to have a higher payroll than we do.

Every team on that list of 14 is now generally in the same ballpark as us in terms of total revenue, whereas in the past many had a $50+ million revenue advantage over us.

Also worth noting that Mark A pocketed somewhere around $8 million from the postseason pool. (40% of the $15 million postseason share + extra from NLDS games 4-5).
