Game 15: Packers @ Bears - Saturday, Dec. 20th @ 7:20 PM

Posted

Less than two weeks removed from the first Bears/Packer matchup and this game feels a lot different.  Losing Parsons, Watson, Tom, and Williams (probably for the last 3) in the course of single game still stings.

But thankfully, Love's deed to Chicago is still valid.

Packers 48 - The Ditkas 3

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Don't call them the Ditkas, they will win if they are the Ditkas.

Packers 73 - The Mike McCaskeys 9 (see 1994)

New Orleans Ditkas? 🤣

Nothing would be sweeter than this injury-hobbled squad pulling out a road win this weekend and shutting up all the FIBs who honestly dont know what rooting for a playoff-caliber team should feel like.

I think the Bears' defense is just bad enough to turn this into a shootout-type game the Packers could win.

Watson practiced today which is surprising, have to think he is feeling better and will likely play. Either that or they just want the Bears to plan for him playing.

It must've been a reflex action... OW! I hurt myself! I must be out for 6 weeks.  Oh, wait...that actually didn't hurt that bad.

He has so many injuries maybe he didn't realize you can fall down without being injured. 😂

I'm not sure I'm going to watch.

I think the bears have a big advantage at head coach and their run game will be very difficult to stop.

I'll be watching to the bitter end and hoping for a happy end.

Odunze and Burden have both been ruled out. Look for a heavy dose of "pound the rock"

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

And Swift is questionable with a groin. In the cold. On that field.

Yeah, hiding Caleb Williams just got a lot tougher for the Bears. Hafley better have his D ready for a lot of Monangai and smoke and mirrors.

Debating between this and Avatar 3. Just too depressing considering there were SB aspirations.

Oh gosh...the Super bowl in 1.5 months may finish before Avatar 3 does.  Go with the game saturday night.

Don’t fool yourself, look at the talent the Bears have invested in offense. Williams, Loveland, Odunze and OT Darnell Wright were all top 10 picks. , DJ Moore was a first rounder, Swift was take  35th overall and Luther Burden 39th overall. They traded for 2 Pro Bowl guards this year too.

Does Ben Johnson get credit for exceeding expectations this year (even though they were set pretty low)? of course, but there are probably high school coaches that could succeed in the pros with the talent group the Bears have amassed in offense.

LaFleur knows what he’s doing and schemes up a good game plan, but it’s objective that LaFleur doesn’t have the same talent level on offense as Johnson does so it’s not an apt comparison.

Agreed - The Bears have one of the highest offensive personnel payrolls in the NFL, and their qb is still on a rookie contract.

Meanwhile GB his still in the bottom 2/3 of the league with a quarterback making huge $$

Feels like a crossroads game not only for this season but for the MLF/Gute regime in general. Sure, we will probably back into the playoffs if we lose but we aren't going anywhere if we can't step up and win this one. Sink or swim time for Morgan and LVN. I am not buying losing Micah as an excuse, maybe in the playoffs but not here.

They are already writing posts about how the refs robbed them because they are packer fans.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Of course they are. Not one call was even controversial, in reality.
