Looks like McGee back to Nashville for Henderson. I think this is a great place for Henderson to grab hold of a starting spot and have some staying power. He has been great in AAA and there is good matchup vs. Washington here.

Hopefully Woody can get right fairly quickly and maybe that would be a good time for a 6 man rotation for a bit or Sproat to AAA for some refining.

Interesting decision to go with Henderson today and push Patrick back for the Cards.

Obviously it gets Patrick an extra day’s rest but I think the fact that Washington is so lefty dominant also probably played a part in the decision…….theoretically Henderson’s change up should play better against them and Patrick might have more success against St Louis.

It would help if he had more defensive versatility. He’s pretty much a DH.

I guess he did have an element of surprise and the infield was back. But it also shows how little faith he had in himself of getting a hit by swinging.

I’ve seen enough of Hamilton’s defensive gaffes and inclination to bunt in any and all situations to conclude that I don’t want to see him as an everyday SS..

A player who tries to bunt with 2 strikes and 2 outs with 2 RISP obviously has no confidence in himself as a hitter.

I'm just coming online today.. But I think Murphy is still perfect on the year at running out a unique batting order for every game. It's not going to be long before I think he is trying to do so for all 162.

Did they not pick that ball up off the bat? It was in the air a long time for neither Frelick nor Mitchell to get to it.

In the gap and hitting the wall on the fly is hard to catch.
