Having reliable guys in the pen like Patrick and Sproat who can give you 4 strong innings is so special. It really gives the Brewers the ability to let Sproat pitch through his growing pains. He flashes so much potential and then kind of runs out of gas in the 5th inning where you can turn it to a guy like Drohan to go 2, 3, or even 4 innings.

Coming into the game Imanaga had a 2.32 ERA that was a half a run better than his 2.84 FIP, and a 3.25 xFIP that thought he'd been getting a little lucky at HR suppression in the early going too.

After the game he has a 3.38 ERA | 3.39 FIP | 3.49 xFIP, instant regression.

Imanaga vs the Brewers before today's game as Fangraphs hasn't updated their splits yet.

5.73 ERA | 5.00 FIP | 4.77 xFIP.

I could only find his ERA against the Brewers with today's start included and it is at 7.52.  This is not including his playoff start against the Brewers.  He has only two good starts against the Brewers so far in his short career all coming last year.  His first year and his only start against the Brewers he gave up 7 earned runs.

Everyone but the Brewers he has a 2.97 ERA | 4.03 FIP | 3.92 xFIP.  The Brewers definitely see something at the plate vs Imanaga that other teams or players just don't.  In his career Imanaga has given up a total of 108 ER against the other teams while he has given up a total of 22ER vs the Brewers.  The Brewers have also hit 7 home runs against him.

I didn’t read any recaps this morning, but I assume Vaughn was lifted after his last at bat in order to get a real LF into the game. You can’t play Yelich/Bauers/Vaughn without having a below average LF. Bauers’ flexibility is useful.

Drohan and Harrison for:

  • Durbin, hitting .165 and getting benched for a call-up.
  • Mona.  Nice man to have at the end of the bench, but out of option flexibility.
  • Siegler, still in AAA.
  • A comp pick that would complicate our bonus pool.

Scammed Boston hard on that one.   Though they did make us take Bunty.

There's a reasonable chance that the Brewers have already sealed the win on that deal given that Drohan, Harrison & Hamilton have already accrued an insurmountable 2 bWAR (the Sox guys are currently at .5).

I said it last night to my brother, PCA and Dalton Rushing should get together and be rage bros.

Ironically it does feel like PCA is at least trying to curb it. (cry)Baby steps.
