I’m okay if we need to have a little bit of a bad stretch. The organization has been largely complacent just standing pat on everything, even the weaknesses, because the wins have still come. It’s been clear that some roster upgrades have been needed at the lower spots on the 26 and maybe a few losses will give them some motivation.

There is probably truth here. Winning consistently extends the leash for those trying to turn things around. Losing amplifies the warts.

Oddly it might be true that a faster path to bringing up the next wave isn't individual player performance but overall team performance.

With how bad SF is I don't think this is over.   However, also not sure how much we're going to want to blow through the pen today.  I suppose a fresh arm can come tomorrow for Crow.  Possibly two if they decide Hall needs IL

I kinda just thought they were waiting until they cleared Super2 to bring up Jett, Lara... maybe wait for Pratt to stay hot. You don't really want to send him back down after you call him up.

But that’s what I was saying before.   Do you really want to bring up a bunch of young guys at one time.    Someone should have been up earlier if that was the plan.    Our regulars suck

Contreras has been a pretty disappointing hitter this year.  No power and then at bats like that.

With a .285 batting average and a broken finger, who is an all star catcher defensively?

I think both can be true possibly? Super 2 seems very in play for Jett's reasoning. Letting Pratt season himself while we are winning could be his reason. If the Brewers were under .500 we might have seen the Pratt call already. Who knows.

He has a broken finger? That was last year.

One thing that bugs me about today and yesterday is that Mitchell is the OF getting pinch hit for more often than Frelick. I think in these LHH heavy lineups they should flip Mitchell and Frelick around so Frelick is the guy getting pinch hit for and not Mitchell.

Imagine still owing Devers 31M/year through 2033. Woof.

And 25-30 mil per year each to Adames and Chapman for another 5ish years too.  They're in really bad shape

I thought he wasn't catching Miz because of his broken finger, Maybe I'm wrong.

Sanchez caught the last start, but Contreras caught him the one before, and I think has generally. That's not accurate.

Broken finger?

I think you are thinking of last season...

As far as I know, he has no broken fingers this year.

EDIT:  Oops, didn't know the confusion has already been addressed.  Sorry.
