You are going to continue to lose games playing 26 v 21.

"continue to lose" is an interesting characterization for a team with the 3rd best winning percentage in MLB for the season as a whole and the best record in MLB since April 26th.

The Brewers were on a 24 W - 8 L run before these last two losses, when you play to a .750 W% for over a month losses are inevitably incoming because that kind of pace just isn't sustainable over 162 games.

For the season as a whole the Brewers .617 W% is a 100 win pace. Do we believe the Brewers are a true talent 100 win team? I know I'd take the under, but 98 or 99 would still be a new franchise record at least.

If the Brewers can play to a 100 win pace punting on five roster spots (primarily because guys like Woodruff, Henderson, Koenig, Lockridge are injured [unless they aren't legit enough either]) how many teams do you believe actually run 26 deep? If that is your expectation you might be setting yourself up to never be satisfied.

PCA gave up another in the park home run. Is he the most overrated defender in MLB?

Stopping inside-the-parkers isn't his style. It's impossible for the ball to be 45 feet over your head & still jump for it.

Or maybe this guy Jacob Waguespack

He's looked good recently but he threw 30 pitches tonite. If he was being considered I don't believe that would've happened. If Anderson & Hall both get shelved I think @adambr2has it right.........Yoho & Fitzpatrick.

There are going to be a lot of severely disappointed people when Rengifo isn't DFA"d tomorrow, and remains our starting 3B well into July.

What do we still owe him on his 1 year deal, another 2 million?  You think the Brewers are interested in eating that cash?

Eddys Leonard is the only infielder I would want up here from Nashville.

I don't think they're much interested in exploring that possibility. I say that because he hasn't played on the left side of the INF--their spot of need--since the middle of May. He's also 2 for his last 26.

Sunk cost.  They are eating it one way or the other.

Not just trailing by 3, but trailing by 3 with 2 men on base and having to bring in a new pitcher because of an injury. Woodford was already throwing.

Bringing in Ashby, Uribe, or Megill would have required them to warm up from a cold start. That’s a recipe for another injury when a pitcher has to alter his normal warmup routine.

The Brewers chances of winning that game were pretty low when they fell behind 6-1 in the third inning. Their late rally was a result if the Giants trying to get through without their best pitchers

Agree in principal.  They should have went with Woodford spot on the roster, last giy out of the pen.  But if would be nice to have a better guy as you last guy out of the pen.  I dont think Woodford is a legit MLB pitcher.  I hoping they DFA him and start auditioning people for his job.

Yes I see that, he was hitting .350 on May 12th, now has been in almost a 3 week slump.  Things always seem to find a way to even out.  But digging deeper they have him listed as a SS but the Sounds are playing him at 1b, 2b, 3b, LF, RF also.  That's Super Utility and has to be very stressful, no wonder he's been in a slump at the plate, he's worried about his defense and where he is going to play so his hitting suffers. They have him on a defensive merry-go-round.  Hope they don't ruin his ass, not a big fan of what there doing.

And it may cost them wins if they don't make a change.

Where is Woody? I know he's is relatively close. Could he be ready for the Crow spot in the rotation, if not the next start in 2.

Yoho and Fitz sounds right to me for Crow and Woodford. If Anderson or Hall need IL I would be fine giving Waugespack a 40 man spots for a couple weeks until Lara or Jett get a call-up with super 2 criteria likely meet.

I get Lara is forcing their hand with his AAA numbers and the struggles of some of the hitters on the 26 man roster, but Lara at 5’7” and 169 lbs os going to make Greg Jones, Frelick and Ortiz looks like hulks in comparison. It’s probably unrealistic to assume another tiny speed and defense guy will have a major league profile much different from Jones, Frelick, Ortiz, etc.

Imagine still owing Devers 31M/year through 2033. Woof.

I love it when stupid spending blows up in an organization’s face. Can’t believe SF took on that contract off Boston’s plate, but then again I can. Just like in real life, people with big money often throw it around carelessly.

then trade him.     If guys like him and Jett aren’t good enough to beat out a bunch of the worst performing players in mlb then give them to Detroit for skubal and be done with it

id take a rental of that guy for a half year then hold onto the Lara and Jetta of the world who people don’t think they can beat out Ortiz for godsakes.

The only real downside of this game is lost trust in Crow. It immediately makes my wish to see Coleman Crow strong-arm Pete Crow-Armstrong that much more unlikely.
