come to think of it, I wonder who is the backup at 2B with Ortiz out. that is likely the deciding factor here.

It so weird. When the Brewers do dumb stuff people say dumb stuff. It makes sense to me in an in game thread but I know the Anntenasio family hates it.They are the only people who could possibly care what other people say that they don't agree with about a baseball team.

I guess what I would say is complaining about Gasser seems relevant when he is struggling getting pitches over the plate and complaining about hypothetical downfalls related to the trade deadline every time the team starts a game slowly seems not really germane to the IGT. But if everyone wants to piss and moan all thread about broadly general complaints I guess I'll stand down. Seems like it defeats the purpose of an IGT when you can discuss those types of frustrations in any number of other threads.

Yeah.    Their defense hasn’t been as stellar as it has been in the past.    It’s not terrible.   It’s just not elite.     We need more plays like that

I had already edited my post to include the top 2 seeds. But you can’t get one of those without winning the division.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

It’s unfortunate they weren’t able to keep Shewmake. There just isn’t much IF depth at the upper minors without him.

Maybe the Astros will trade him to the Brewers again. 😊

As opposed to what, incessantly telling people to relax and posting about who can post what.  That seems germane for an IGT to you?

So, I got curious.  Last year on August 10th the Brewers won their 9th game in a row vs. the Mets on a walk-off Issac Collins home run, 7-6.   Their record went to 73-44.   Tonight the Brewers went to 73-44.   The standings at the end of that day in 2025 had the Cubs sitting 6 games out at 67-50.  With the Cubs loss tonight, they now sit at 68-50 and 5 1/2 games behind.  Pretty stinking uncanny if you ask me.

And to really top it off - Christian Yelich where the heck have you gone?!   This box score below is from August 15th, 2025.

The Germans got nothing to do with this.

It was definitely an overreactionary game thread, myself included. Go onto twitter/X and things are far worse. It’s interesting to look at/wonder why, because things haven’t been bad - 4 out of our last 5 and 14-7 since the AS break.

I think there’s things that contribute psychologically - particularly when the Cubs start playing well we get the feeling that they’ll always continue to play that well, even when baseball has proven time and time again to be a streaky sport (the Cubs themselves have both winning and losing streaks of 10 games this very season).

I think some disappointment over the trade deadline - what we didn’t get, what we got, and what we gave up, is all spilling over too.

We, the Milwaukee Brewers, have the best record in baseball by a fair amount.

I still remember the 90s when we were a laughing stock.

These last few seasons have been damn near baseball heaven.

This is how I feel. Every thread bleeds into the same discussion. And then there’s the confirmation bias posters who can’t wait for Murphy to make a decision they can second-guess.

any word on Ortiz? I have to wonder if he’s been nursing a sore neck for a few days.

I think that it is YOU that doesn't understand the concept or purpose of the IGT.

This is where people react to the game in real time, while it is happening.

You simply can't tell people how to feel, how to react, or how to post.

- There will be knee jerk reactions.  Positive and Negative.

- There will be hot takes,  Positive and negative.

- There will be complaining.  Negative.

- There will be celebration!  Positive!

- There will be arguing and disagreements.

If this bothers you and the other 2 or 3 guys who like to check in and tell the entire IGT how and what they can post, then just kindly find another place to visit.  This place isn't going to change for you, so save yourself the irritation.

Rarely does anyone tell a poster what they can post. Calling someone out for ridiculous comments is not telling them how or what to post. That just doesn’t happen. I would venture to say the negative “knee-jerk” reactions are 5:1 negative to positive (I don’t have actual figures), which to me is insane given the record of the Brewers.

If he needs an IL stint this is where you'd like Shewmake, who can play three spots on the INF pretty effectively. If they need to make a move, unless there's another Shewmake rattling around in the ether I suspect it'll be a move people will be disappointed by, like adding Ethan Murray. A longshot might be Eric Brown JR, who was just promoted to AAA & has versatility.

EBJ & I went to the same high school - Parkway HS in Bossier City LA - although it was 42 years apart 😏

I also thought of Murray as an option

Never thought I would “miss” having Shewmake, but he would be an ideal short-term option

I hate that we’ll need to make a 40-man DFA to make room for someone
