The Mariners can pitch but they are last in baseball in runs scored. Raleigh has had a year to forget.

The Mariners' bats have shown signs of life in the past week. They just scored 20 runs on 35 hits in three games in Houston which I would argue was their best offensive series of the entire season. The Astros have a bottom-10 pitching staff so I wouldn't expect them to repeat that output against the Brewers. Raleigh is still dangerous despite his atrocious numbers, his struggles appear to be mental. Vic

Trap series for the Brewers. Seattle still considers themselves to be in the playoff race and they have the easiest September schedule in MLB in September, so they are sitting around 35% playoff odds despite their 59-66 record. The starting pitching matchups are about even in this series.

The Seattle bullpen is a weakness so the Brewers need to get the starters out of the game early and do damage against their middle relievers.

Seattle pitchers benefit greatly from their home park...

2026 SEA Home
3.32 ERA (2nd) | 3.60 FIP (4th) | .289 wOBA (4th)
2026 SEA Road
4.40 ERA (17th) | 3.95 FIP (5th) | .324 wOBA (17th)

Going back to 2022 their 3,095 runs allowed are 4th fewest in MLB, but they've pitched to a 3.22 ERA (1st) | 3.56 FIP (2nd) | .279 wOBA (1st) at home versus a 4.21 ERA (13th) | 4.17 FIP (16th) | .317 wOBA (15th) on the road.

They are optimized to win at their home ballpark where they have a .580 win percentage since the start of 2022. That compares with a .486 road winning percentage over the same period.

For comparison, the Brewers are .607 at home and .544 on the road since 2022.

I am not one of those fans that says "this is our year" every year, but I've been telling friends and family for a few months that this is our year, and I believe it. We have a few years of playing in October under most of their belts. Miz is the difference maker that can singlehandedly win a game. The way he pitched last year in huge moments made me think he was something different than our usual definition of ace. There is enough starpower/talent in the lineup. The one concern I had was the bullpen and it has rounded itself out quite nicely. I just have a stronger gut feeling this season than I remember having probably since 2011, when I still think we had the best team in the league and RR bungled it. A great time to be a Brewers fan. I'm not too wound up about where they ultimately finish. The bye is big, but I just believe that fate is going to be Counsell watching Murphy bring the championship to Milwaukee.

Harrison had a great off day yesterday...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Hogg said they’ve worked on Harrison’s arm slot in between starts…….they noticed he was dropping it down a bit which might have caused issues with his fastball being hit more often in his last start.

I was interested in this comment so I looked a little bit - their pitchers are #1 at not walking people, while Brewers' hitters are #2 in drawing walks, That sounds like bad news for us - we rely on the walk for offense and they don't give'em. That also tends to keep pitch counts down,

Do we address our challenge habits with our catchers? Establish any guidelines or protocols?

No? Just the Wild West out there?

And he just stood there. Haha. That was great.

Rodriguez been watching Garrett Mitchell tape if he's staring at strike 3 like that.  Meatball fastball right down the middle.

Given that the ump called almost the exact same pitch for a strike right afterwards, was the curve just so good it fooled Wild Bill?

Can't offend his guy Hamilton

At least Joey O is in the starting line-up.
