Logan Henderson likely makes his final regular season start. Aaron Nola has pitched very well since the All Star Break.

How many innings does Henderson throw tonight?  Regular start, or maybe only 3 or 4 innings?

Looks like the bullpen is fully loaded, so I'm going to guess he gets the Miz treatment and throws 3.

Given that the plan seems to be for Miz to have more of a normal outing on Sat, I'll guess 4-5. He has a bunch of days off.

I would think with the extra off days they would go for a longer start as well.

I would guess Henderson gets a regular start. He last pitched on SEP 16, so he's on full 6 days rest.

He threw 95 pitches to get through 5 innings against the Cubs on SEP 9, then 87 pitches to get through 5 innings against the Pirates on SEP 16.

With the Phillies' lineup, running into deep counts might limit Henderson's innings due to pitch count. Probably a cap at 5 or 6 innings, but that's determined by number of pitches.

FWIW. Harrison's stuff at least is back to early season levels.

I do find that encouraging.  Hopefully, he gets one more crack against the Cards, and we see results that match the stuff.

It's nerve-wracking thinking of May and Harrison pitching in the playoffs, but I'm not sure what other choices we have.  We're going to have some question marks, but so does every other team.

Yeah. Not sure if last night was bad location, bad luck, pitching tipping, or a combo of each. 

He did actually get through the inning so there was some "progress".

It looked like the breaking balls low in the zone were missing the target.  If Harrison could get back to where he was at the beginning of the year, that would be awesome.  I don't know if I have enough confidence in that happening, though.  We all know that the IGT will blow a few gaskets if he comes in during the playoffs, right?

The IGT will surely blow a gasket if he sees another regular season game, even if HFA is clinched.

There could be an interesting situation setting up for this weekend.

There is a classic “NorEaster” approaching that is expected to dump heavy rain on much of the New England coast this weekend. That could wreak havoc with the Cubs – Red Sox series that has significant ramifications for the seeding in the NL wildcard race and could also affect the Red Sox playoff position.

I wonder if they might consider drastic measures, like scheduling a doubleheader for Friday, to try to get in as much play as they can as weather permits over the weekend.

I think they're already pulling up.  Last night they auditioned guys for postseason relief, giving 8 different pitchers an inning.  They still shutout the Padres.  

I fear that team.

I think we are better prepared to put up a fight this year. 

It will not be easy. 

It's also possible that they or us get eliminated in the DS and the matchup never happens.

I noticed that, too. Perhaps he was getting swings on those earlier in the year, but the misses did seem to be too down, too away. And the way he was able to establish the FB at or slightly above the top of the zone pre-ASG, the slurve didn't need to be in a perfect spot to be really effective.

I think he needed a second wind very badly and for whatever reason it doesn't look like he'll recover completely in '26. He'd be such a damned game-changer if he could so I get why they're giving him every chance. He's really swimming upstream though.

I feel like with all the hand-wringing about starters after Misiorowski & Henderson that Gasser is being overlooked. True, there'd have been much concern if in March we were told he'd be potentially our #3, but over his last 5-6 appearances he's been outstanding.

Quality, big-game experienced arms that are fresh in October. It's hard to put a value on that.
