Given Henderson's struggles on throwing to first against the Dodgers, I fully expect the Rays to go full bore on trying to steal bases. Contreras' current form might damper that somewhat, but I don't expect it to be the case. The Rays feel like a commit to the bit team.

Hoping Logan can stay within himself and remember that old baseball truism: you can't steal first base.

What’s the decision? Are we going with blander, blender, blinder, blonder or blunder?  Or bander, BENDER, binder, binder or bunder?

So to sum it up…….pressure was on Brewers last night…….now it’s on the Rays.

This whole frustrated by lack of offense narrative is strange to me.

1 it’s hard to score in the postseason

2 in the Dodgers series we scored 6 or more in 3 of the 4 games…..

I mean it’s not supposed to be easy……we are playing a 98 win team that is a mirror image of the Brewers in many ways.

We are 8-1 in the postseason now……that’s pretty damn impressive.

Jean Segura disagrees with this statement.

I’m probably not the first to mention this, but game 1s this playoffs have all been tightly contested 1 run games. This one feels even more like the NLCS since we are going up against the opponents unbeatable playoff SP.

I think we just keep finding a way to win much like we have all season.

Results oriented thinking is one way to look at it, but looking at it from the process perspective instead, the Rays were damn close to stealing game 1. They must be feeling very confident about their chances to win the series based on how each team played and the resources each used to get to the result.

IMHO that’s not how baseball works at all. Process plays out over a much longer time frame, and performance can shift dramatically from game to game. They’re still a team that won 98 games in the weaker league and took six games to shake the Guardians. We’re still a team that won 103 games in the stronger league and swept the Dodgers.  Both teams’ players are still the same guys they were two days ago. The difference now is that they need four wins and we only need three.  They nearly stole game one, but they didn’t, and the ground they gained yesterday doesn’t count today. Rasmussen will be tough, but Henderson’s no slouch.

Aranda, Simpson, and Caminero had 6 of their 7 hits plus their two walks - so, 8 times on base. Given that they were consecutive batters in the order, it's a little surprising we kept them to 2 runs. That makes me a little nervous for the upcoming games...

Same lineup

Quite honestly, this shocks me...  I fully expected some tinkering.

It’s probably our best lineup against right handed pitching. Yelich will DH against RHP. Frelick will play RF and we don’t trust Bauers in the outfield. So…🤷‍♂️

I am going in mentally prepared for us to lose just so it hurts less. I would obviously love to have this one...my ideal scenario is we go up 2-1, then 3-1, Rays grab the last home game and we finish this off in 6 in Milwaukee. It would be the least stressful way to go 6 games.

Are you mentally prepared for a long extra inning game though. I won’t be surprised if there is some of that in this series. If it has to happen I hope it’s tonight.
