Probably the best chance to get a win in the series. While Burns might be the better thrower the Brewers have shown no inclination to score runs for him

After last night the Brewers have a chance to turn things around against Pepiot, a little patience should lead to a decent offense tonight and hopefully regain some confidence.

Pepiot is yet another nice pitching prospect the Dodgers have. 3rd round pick out of college in ‘19. No minor league season in 2020 and yet here he is in the big leagues a year and a half and just 200 minor league innings later.  That’s why the Dodgers are Goliath in the NL.

Hopefully the Brewers don’t help him out by swinging away recklessly.

So, we’ve now been shut out ten times this season in 114 games.

Not all games are equal.

Total run differential (114 games) = +31

Run differential against teams currently in playoffs (39 games) = -29

Offense RS (non playoff) = 4.87 /game

Offense RS (playoff) = 3.87 /game

As a comparison, the Atlanta Braves have a -7 run differential against team in currently in the playoffs.

They are decent at scoring on teams that give them help with walks and errors.

Not so good at scoring without help.

But that is probably somewhat true all across the MLB

If Hiura isn't allowed to play why even have him up?

When Stearns took off the blindfold that's whose name the dart hit.

I’ve covered this in the thread about the offense. The gap between the Brewers RPG against the five most generous teams in the NL (Pirates, Reds, Cubs, Nats, and Rockies) and their RPG against everyone else is significantly larger than the gap for other NL playoff contenders.

The Brewers overall offensive numbers are skewed by the games against those 5 teams, and their numbers against those 5 teams are padded by some of those exceptionally high scoring games, most of which came early in the year.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The value of having Davis on the roster when we have Frelick, Ruiz, and Mitchell (but especially Frelick) all in AAA escapes me.

In the case of Frelick and Mitchell, it's about having an extra year of control.

Defense. Not that Frelick is bad.

When we have as many CF's as we do in our organization, especially with Chourio making his way up, I question how much the extra year of control is worth it, especially if one of them is likely to make next year's opening day roster.

Then they would need to stay in the minors past super 2 next year correct?
