I don't know. If they don't win another game not sure that Jones will hang on to him.

All their star players have vouched for him and Jerry said some kind things.  I think McCarthy is safe.

Not to look ahead too much, but if we don’t win in Minnesota next week, it is a mathematical likelihood that we will drop to the 7 seed. Washington will be favored against Atlanta and Dallas in each of their last two games. Should both teams finish 12-5, the tiebreaker will go to Washington on conference record for the 6 seed.

What's really wild about this is this particular season, under the old playoff format before expansion, a 12 win team would have been potentially left out.

I'm wondering if Dallas will surprise some people at the end now that they are eliminated.  Now they can play for themselves instead of for Jerry Jones.

Those are definitely both games Washington can lose. I hope we keep 6, but my ideal scenario is that Minnesota pulls to #1, we stay at 6 and play Atlanta in the first round. I don't think Atlanta is going to end up making it though. In my dream, Washington beats Philadelphia and Minnesota and we beat Atlanta and Detroit (beats LA) and play Washington at home for the NFCCG, lol.

I know it's a long shot but Washington can still win the East and Philly would fall to the #7 seed if we run the table. Pretty wishful thinking though since there's about as much chance of them losing to the Giants as there is of me winning the Powerball jackpot tonight.

Now that would be a Christmas miracle.

You have better odds.

I know Detroit hung on to beat the Packers a couple Thursday nights ago...but with all the potential matchup scenarios we are laying out as "easiest" paths for GB to go on a postseason run, I get the feeling like every other NFC playoff hopeful is doing a similar process to map out the preferred matchups that wouldn't include having to play the Packers themselves.

This team has that feel of a "nobody wants to have to beat us to win a Title" to it.

With Phillys loss, it really feels like it's going to be 1 seed lions or vikings.  Assuming we lose to the Vikings and end up the 7 seed or get the 6 and still have to play the 1 seed in the divisional round, I'm not sure who I'd rather face, but I'm leaning lions with all their injuries.

Remember what Yoda said:

I'm not watching the game but judging by the box score, this Seahawks-Bears game might be the most boring game in football history.

It is.  Nobody can score a touchdown to save their life.  Packers are going to wreck them next week.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

I see that the Bears clock management in the 2 minute drill is no better post-Eberflus.

Also, in this day and age, if 57 yards is out of your kicker’s range to at least attempt to tie a game over a 4th and 10, you need a new kicker.

Bears ended up as the same joke they've been for a while. Presumably 11 straight losses to end the year and the 3 wins before that were all against trash opponents.

Bears fan coworkers were legitimately convinced they were going to finish ahead of the Packers this season behind Caleb Williams. Unreal delusion.

How are the Bears this terrible? They clearly aren’t a completely talentless roster.

Both lines are terrible.  The defensive line gets a "passable" grade pass rushing, but are terrible against the run.  I don't think the starting offensive linemen are very good to begin with, and they've had a lot of injury problems there and have had some guys on the field that have looked no better than practice squad material.

And their highly touted wide receiver and defensive back groups, seems like their are a few selfish whiners mixed in there...guys who should be better than they are and flat out quit a few weeks ago and have likely dragged the entire team down.

There are obviously massive culture issues there.  Guys who were complaining about Eberflus...who you would figure would come out with their hair on fire and really play hard to show that Eberflus was the problem...first game with Eberflus gone was the 49ers game, and San Fran put a 300+ yard performance on in the first half while the Bears had 4 yards.  NFL team...4 yards in a half...right after the players helped push the head coach out the door.  I would expect a 300+ yards versus 4 yards in a half of football if I was watching the Georgia Bulldogs play the Weber State Wildcats.  That should never, never happen in the NFL game.

Remember when Caleb Williams told the punter he wasn't going to punt very much this year?

Good times.

That guy has all of Aaron Rodgers' bad body language and half the talent.

Seriously though, he looks to have a really nice arm and obviously, he can move. I hope he never gets to work with a smart offensive mind while in Chicago.

Yikes. The spread between 1 and 2 is the same as the distance between 2 and 9. Let's see the Pack nudge that number over 70.

That 15 sack spread between Williams (67) and Stroud (52) is also four more times than Love has been sacked all year with only 11 so far.

Kyle Brandt said on GMFB that Packers-Bears will be on Saturday. They don't announce anything for next week until after this weekend but just a heads up for anyone going it could be moved.

It's poor coaching. It absolutely has to be. That team is more talented than the Vikings...IMO and they're...what, 7 games behind in the standings.

They've got 3 really good WRs, their OL isn't good, but it's not terrible. They're just always a poorly run mess.

I'm terrified Ben Johnson is going to take that job in the off-season. Look at what he's done with Detroit and then give him a young QB like Williams, Odunze, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Kmet and a couple good backs?

Plus, they'll have a top 10 pick. That has to be on an OT. Wright is a really good RT.

But it's the Bears, so they'll probably hire a defensive minded HC and continue to let Caleb sink or swim on his own.
