So who are these younger guys the Cubs have helping them win right now? Are they good prospects or are they just random guys over performing like the Cards prospects the last couple years or so.

I saw Peralta listed as the probable starter for Sunday.

Are they planning to start Peralta against the Cubs on 4 days rest and then have him drop his appeal, “sit out” 5 games and come back to face the Cardinals next Saturday?

The Cubs are legit. Their rotation is a question mark minus Steele and their bullpen is legit not good. But be afraid of their prospects, they've spent the past few years building out a very nice farm system.

Can we please just save Bauers for pinch hitting and 1B defensive replacement duty only at this point? Would much rather see Chourio in the OF at Wrigley and getting the PAs.

And what kind of dirt does Oliver Dunn  (4.5 BB% | 38.8 K% | 68 wRC+) have on Murph that he keeps getting starts over Ortiz who has hit better (16.7 BB% | 17.9 K% | 130 wRC+) and is a better defender too?

Team has gone 10-8 and hit for a 108 wRC+ (8th in MLB) since Christian’s back flared up.

No doubt he should give them a boost upon his return, but given how the rest of the team has held their own during his absence I don’t think there’s any need to rush things.

100% agree on Chourio over Bauers & Ortiz over Dunn

Maybe it's my imagination but it feels like scheduling has gone downhill since they changed from human scheduling to computer scheduling.

It doesn't matter that Murphy is suspended, he still makes the final call.
