When you're up by 3 in the 9th you go right at them and make them hit their way on.  And to their credit, one of the best players in the game (when healthy) did exactly that.

Brewers improve to 26-14 vs. the AL. Best interleague record in baseball and it's not really close.

So what you’re saying is, win the pennant, and Brewers in 6.

Bauers is probably gone when Sanchez comes back. No way Haase makes it through waivers.

I'd rather have the Haase learn how to play first base than keep Bauers

At the end of May, Jackson Chourio had a 63 wRC+ and -1.36 WPA

After the game today, Jackson Chourio has a 97 wRC+ and 0.11 WPA

I don't think WPA is a very useful stat for position players, but just such a huge swing in a matter of a month and a half of games.

Does national media say a word about this guy.   He’s pretty good.

Had company over today so I was just following the game and not watching it. Quite a roller coaster ride but in the end a big win.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I don't think they can send him down.  They keep him in Milwaukee or lose him.

He'd have to clear waivers, which won't happen. Time for some roster voodoo. Strap in for the next couple weeks.

What's with all the knuckle curves?

Wish he threw one to Abrams last week.

I actually thought it was ridiculous that Buxton was looking for it on the 2nd pitch, after getting one to start the AB.

I don't know if Megill is running out of gas, he's still throwing hard. It might simply be a case of a 30-yr-old who never had a save in his career, then had 18 out of 19, reverting a little bit.

3rd best reliever ERA in MLB. But also 3rd most homers given up by relievers. No they don't suck but they can't keep the ball in the park

I think concerns being expressed about the bullpen, especially the late inning reliever, are legitimate.

Season long ERA becomes much less relevant when several of the pitchers who contributed to that ERA are showing signs of wear.

Putting lots runners on base and  giving up HRs is not a recipe for success, even though they got away with it today.

Hopefully Williams can come back and be effective right away after finishing his rehab.

Total slugfest two game series. Glad to be on winning end. Yeesh.

I wouldn't call last night's game a slugfest. 1-1 after 10 innings with very few hits and scoring chances.

It took ghost runners, the dregs of the bullpens,, and some bad defense  to get runs on the board.

At this stage just give Contreras days off.

Yes I agree because Haase is playing great and Contreras is just plane old ... worn out I believe.

Haase 9 for 21 with 3 HR's and a walk, Can't argue with that.

He's going to be a 3 WAR or so player this year and that's with taking a couple months to hit his stride. He's only going to get better. Barring injury they'll never regret the contract they gave him.

Agree on Haase, but y'all know that Bauers has a higher OPS than Sanchez, right?

Sanchez was only given $3M for a reason.  DFA Sanchez, keep Haase.

What is surprising to me is that they've given up 50+ homers and they still have a stellar ERA. But yeah agreed Hudson et al are all coming back down to earth

He was overthrowing the curve. When he dialed it back a bit, he made a nice pitch to end the game.
