I think what's special about it this year is this team wasn't expected to do this. Instead, they blew the doors off the rest of the division. Pretty cool. With that said, today has the "just another day" feeling to me more than in past years for two reasons:

1) This had been a forgone conclusion for weeks,

2) This organization has been here way too much in the last decade+ to treat this like a huge deal every year. It's time to move on to bigger things.

My preseason predictions are often wrong, but I'm gonna take my victory lap here 🥳

Record: 88-74 (1st NL Central)

MVP: Contreras

Cy Young: Peralta

ROY: Chourio

Top Newcomer: Chourio

All Star(s): Contreras, Adames

Breakout Player(s): Chourio, Uribe

Disappointment(s): Hoskins (serviceable, but sub-.800 OPS)

Bold Prediction(s): 88 wins is pretty bold and a lot needs to go right, but we're in a weak division and we just have to repeat what we did last year. No more serious injuries to key pieces. Chourio follows a Julio Rodriguez trajectory and is the best player on the team by the ASB. The core of Yelich, Adames, and Contreras all perform. We have the bats, we have young guys with upside, and we have a strong record of finding and developing pitching. Lets go.

its too bad it didn't happen after a win and instead 2 1/2 hrs before 1st pitch. That being said this one is very special with everything that has happened the last 300 days to this team

I tried to find my post where I said they would win 78 games, and I couldn't.  So, I'm holding myself accountable.  I wanted to wait because, you know, I would jinx the season if I said something sooner... 😉

Brewers -- I apologize for doubting you.  I know it is pessimistic Wisconsin Sports upbringing, but that is no excuse.

I did not think the starting pitching would be able to hold up.  Actually, the staff, as a whole, did the job.  Also, the offense was something I didn't see coming.  I expected Willie to be traded mid season and the Brewers to stock up on more minor-league talent.  Boy... was I wrong...

So, now that that is over, LFG!!!!!!!

Humbly yours,
Samurai

The vocal off-season doomsayers have disappeared as usual.

I thought a.500 season would be admirable....but then all the hectic happens. And the injuries to major players, including Yelich! Yeah,, pretty special....giving Murphy and staff a lot of credit. But even more, I give guys that didn't hit the IR even more...guys like Adames, Rea, Contreras...wow.

I could have sworn the Cardinals were supposed to overtake the Brewers by the end of July or was it the Cubs by the end of August or was it supposed to be now for the Cubs?

The Cubs having an easier schedule were not supposed to lose these games and would be in first place now!

Let's be real, the team has vastly outperformed expectations given the change in management and injuries. I am beyond thrilled at the results we have seen from this group of players and am more excited about this next run than I was when I thought we had the next A's/Braves pitching staff locked up for 5 years in Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta.

Sweet! Sort of weird clinching in the afternoon before a night game but I don’t have Bally anyway so would miss the post game fun. Cmon Brewers let’s win the whole damn thing for Ueck!

Growing up in the 90’s and watching some really god awful teams play and the last 6-years has been well worth it.  Even if the Brewers never win a WS during this run I will be happy as long as they keep on winning.  I never want to go back to the ‘93-2004 teams ever again.

Just really sweet.

I'm 60 years old. In 1982, I saw us lose in the World Series, and thought, 'Oh well, we'll be back.' Hasn't quite worked that way. Let's see it happen 42 years later.

Also, everyone - appreciate these teams. I lived through some awful Brewer clubs. Each year was a slog. You knew it was going to be ugly - but you hoped and prayed. To win four division titles in the past 7 or whatever years is pretty amazing. Enjoy it.

Go Crew.

Yup. I turned 50 this year and most of my baseball life has been rooting for, pulling for, cheering for, and just watching bad and mediocre Brewers teams. This stuff hasn't (and won't) get old to me.  I've accepted that I may *never* see my guys win a WS, but these seasons like this are enjoyable for the journey.
