Though with TNT losing the NBA after this season that'll free him up for the second half of April and all of May with no NBA Playoffs to call.

Meh, I'm used to him being gone.  I don't really care if he just plain leaves for good.

When he does show up for Brewers games, he just isn't as into it as he used to be.  He isn't as informed, and it's hard for me to care what he says when he is no longer living the Brewers life.

He’s fantastic and we are lucky he feels loyalty to the Brewers and still wants to do games………..he certainly isn’t doing it for the money.

I agree...but it is disappointing how he and Rock don't line up that much. I love when BA is giving Rock crap...like the mouthy little Brother.

Hoping I get to like Dillard a bit more.

(I meant Rottino).

I would like to see the Brewers cut ties with BA.  He is NOT a true Brewers fan.  He doesn't appreciate what little ole' Milwaukee has to overcome to compete with the big market teams, and cheers for such teams on these national broadcasts just as lustily if not more so than he does the Brewers on a Brewers broadcast.

I want a true blue Brewers fan broadcasting Brewers games locally!

Yeah, BA may not be as much of a "homer" as he used to be, but he still does a good job, IMHO. That said, I don't care much one way or the other. Everyone is replaceable.

On what basis can you make such blanket statements about him?
And I wouldn't say he's cheering for teams, he's capturing the emotion and energy of the moment. Is he supposed to sound like Pat Hughes the whole game, or Jim Nance calling the Masters?

I think he's a really talented guy. But I too wouldn't miss him due to the fact that he's gone as often as he is. Kinda reminds me of the 80s when it was "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" but it seemed like the guy was barely there.

He is NOT a Brewers First guy ... it's obvious in his tone on these broadcasts.  He is a national guy that is MLB-first, not Brewers-first!  The MLB is stacked against the Brewers and small-market teams and BA just goes with the flow.

Don't feel as harsh as some others, but I would prefer they cut ties, give a new guy a chance that wants to be here all year.

Yup, like to have guys who are consistently there, not just making occasional guest appearances, which is what BA seems like these days.  I want guys who are winning and losing with the team on a daily basis.  Guys who are there for all the ups and downs for every game during the season, not just when it works out in their schedule.

To me personally, BA just doesn't feel like a Brewer broadcaster any longer, just a guy who fills in.

I imagine Knicks fans probably feel some of this with Mike Breen being the lead for ESPN. But I think this is over the top. BA still gets into the calls when something good happens for the Crew.

I disagree on both points.

He shows zero loyalty to the Brewers, we are his back-up plan.

He most certainly is doing it for the money, if not, he would be doing full seasons with the Brewers, not just a game here, and a game there.

Not anymore than he does when some Big Market slugger or pitcher hits a homerun or throws a strikeout against some Small Market team.  BA is a MLB associate more than he is a Brewers fan.  Give us announcers that love the Brewers more than anything else in the sport, please!

He very likely gets a pretty sweet deal from the Brewers, a good chunk of change and the only commitment is when he has no better national gig to do. That is a great set up if you can get it, not many guys can. Good for him.

I would prefer a bit more local flavor and a guy that's going through the grind and attached. On a local telecast, I like that. Rock is not everyone's cup of tea, but I love the guy's passion for the team.

... or maybe he is so good at his job, we don't know the difference.  When he does MLB games on TNT/TBS, he is professional getting "excited" for both sides.  When he broadcasts Brewers games, he gets more excited for the Brewers for sure.  I appreciate how he does change his tone to be a little looser with his announcing when he is broadcasting Brewers games.  I know some don't appreciate that, but I don't tune in to listen to a commentator from the NBC Nightly News.

I remember seeing a video from Barstool Sports during game 2 of the Wildcard.  They were complaining at how the announcers had a different "inflection" when the Brewers did well.  They talked about how announcers hate the Mets.  Here is the video (hopefully it starts at the point I put it -- 2:35:00):

Ever fan base gets worked up when announcers aren't being homers for them.

The bottom line is he is definitely doing it for the money.  He is also a Brewers guy and I have no problem with him coming back to do games.  Heck, the Brewers could have told Uecker to pound sand when he was doing TV and baseball on ABC, but they didn't.

BA earned this and I am happy he grew into the announcer he is broadcasting for the Brewers.

Last night, Rizzo got picked off between second and third. John Sterling said about the Yankees, "That's what they do, run the bases like they are drunk!" Awesome stuff.

I hate homer announcers. When I am watching, and Rock or Dillard says "Frelick has really been hot on this homestand" and I can see that Frelick is 4 of 16 on the homestand, I hate it. I already think that they attribute things to bad luck way too often. When I lived in Cincinnati in the 90s, Marty Brennaman would definitely take the team or players to task while doing play by play, while Joe Nuxhall was much more of a cheerleader as the color guy. I liked the combo.

That said, I like BA. Not so fond of Dillard. But I'm gonna watch anyway.

I have no issues with people wanting a full time broadcaster and/or if people just don't like Anderson's calls anymore - but to say he isn't a Brewers fan and/or that he isn't showing loyalty to us by coming back is really funny. He could call any game he wants to at this point for any team and he chooses to spend his 'off days' at AmFam.

BA's schedule wouldn't be as bad if his partner wasn't also part time. It's hard tuning not knowing at least one of the broadcasters is a constant.

Don't think this is a big enough problem to get rid of Rock or BA, though.

Is it due to the age of our broadcasters or an industry trend to not do all available games? Seems like it's been a while since we had someone do that.

He also lives in the Milwaukee area. I mean...it is just a crazy take. I guess anyone that takes a job outside of Wisconsin isn't a Wisconsin sports fan anymore.

We're so lucky to have BA. The unabashed homer announcers are obnoxious.

Personally I like having some variety in the booth. I wish the Brewers would rotate radio and TV commentators like some teams do.
