First off, hello…. Long time reader first time poster. Willi Castro is exactly who I would target, and I would also entertain plugging the LH hole at first base with Josh Naylor if AZ sells. Castro ends the Monasterio experiment and can get plenty of ABs with his versatility.

Collins is a converted OF correct.  Any chance brewers could move Turang to SS and go after a big OF bat .  That along with Hearns from Baltimore ?

The Guardians are 2.5 games out of the Wild Card.  They could stand past and let destiny take care of it itself.  They could buy.  What if they are in sell mode though?

What would it take for Gaurdians to trade Jose Ramirez?

Quintana, Henderson, Pratt for Ramirez?

yes? No?

Jose Ramirez loves Cleveland and has a full no trade clause.

Even though i was opposed to giving up something big for him, I think Josh Smith is the target. He can play all IF positions and play LF if needed. Guy has been Very steady since June 1st and wouldn't really disrupt the lineup. Can play 5 times a week and give all the IF guys a break.

Guy has 3 years of control left.

Rangers are still in the playoff hunt ( only 1.5 games back of WC) - So i doubt they would trade him, but they are one of the teams that need SP

I don't think they're trading Ramirez at all, but I also don't think that package is near enough even if they were.

This thread is such an interesting read and I say this with no malice ... just observing. It's interesting the perspectives ... some people are hoping we can trade Tyler Black for Eugenio Suarez and some people are wanting to trade half of our farm system for Otto Lopez. The bell curve on perceived value is wild.

I also heard from the talking heads on MLB Network that the Braves will most likely be sellers also barring a loooong winning streak. FWIW

Not much in the Braves looks all that interesting for the Brewers.  Offensively I think only Ozuna will be made available and their other pieces will be overpay or we won’t move them.  I guess Iglesias could be an option but he hasn’t looked all that good this year.

If you want someone like Albies I think the conversation starts with a Henderson plus package.  I am not sure that would be worth it.

Ozuna is a DH only right now and that doesn’t make much sense to add for the Brewers.

I just don't see many (any?) places where the Brewers need to upgrade. Short is the closest, but I don't want to dig into the farm system for a moderate upgrade, especially for a rental.

Braves have a Rookie catcher I would keep an eye on for maybe next year if after this season we decide to move on from Contreras.  Drake Baldwin  https://www.mlb.com/player/drake-baldwin-686948

If that would get it done, it would already be done.  I don't think that is even close to what it would take.

First of all, take Quintana out of any deal involving Ramirez, that is just whacko to even think he'd be in that conversation.

Secondly, Made would almost certainly be in any talks to get Ramirez, that would be the starting point.

Made, Henderson, Pratt and that still wouldn't be enough...

I assume he's talking about this Quintana:

Not this Quintana:
