I'm not one to tell LA what to do but if they can get 3-4 more $700 million players, maybe they could compete with us?

Maybe they could trade five of their best players to the Braves for Acuña?

Small market clubs have unfair advantages with the revenue sharing and draft picks they receive after losing free agents to big market teams.

The in-game threads are always full of hyperbolic overreactions, but I feel like the bullpen is getting way over-criticized. Ashby had a bad outing today, but it still only resulted in a single run. Over the Dodgers series, the pen pitched 10 innings, gave up only 2 runs (the other was a meaningless homer with a 9-0 lead) on 5 hits and 4 walks, plus they racked up 14 Ks. And I'll remind you, this was against the DODGERS. A scuffling Dodgers team, granted, but this is not your run-of-the-mill major league batting order.

Give the pen - and the manager - some credit and maybe don't expect perfection. The lack of Brewer offense makes these games tight and any chink in the armor gets magnified, but overall, the pen is more than just solid.

Yeah I just don't really get it. Ortiz was playing his best baseball of the season then had two really bad games in Miami and Murphy benched him and just tore him to shreds publicly. Weird situation.

I hope Ortiz outlasts Murphy with the Brewers

Can someone fill this ignoramus in about Murphy "ripping" Ortiz? EDIT:

N/M.  I've seen Murphy's comments.

What a great series, a blowout, a Misi masterpiece, and a nail biter.

The Cubs are shaking in their boots, I guarantee it.

In the marathon of a baseball season, games like this remind you why you're a fan. Just a perfect finish to the game, the series, and a wonderful segue into a day off.

Today Quintana reminded me a lot of the guy I loved to hate when he faced us all those other times. Ashby was disappointing today though. Two tough hitters back-to-back, but in the Hernandez & Ohtani ABs it almost looked to me like he needed to be reminded that he's been pitching well & has really good stuff. He just looked reluctant to me, I guess is the best way to put it. Of course the second of those two can do that to a pitcher.

Megill was so much fun to watch the last two outings. Attitude, a sharp breaking ball & a click or two over 100 MPH is a difficult combination.

I'm a Turang fan. But there are times I wish, to borrow a basketball term, he'd make himself a little tougher to guard. Ugly AB vs the lefty in the 9th. Would've been a wonderful time to take a bunt with him towards the 2B with the pitcher falling off towards 3B.

I'm hoping Perkins makes it back to provide OF depth behind Chourio, Frelick............and Isaac Collins. Who would've predicted that?

At the plate, is anyone else seeing a touch of Charlie Moore in Durbin?

Lastly, I think a study should be conducted to explain the tendency for heavier, journeyman-type 1B to come here, get off to nice starts & endear themselves to fans.

I'm late to today's party. Firstly:

I still have serious concerns about Murf's bullpen management. BUT, if you cannot get hyped about the current state of this team and the starting pitching depth that very clearly stretches deep into Nashville's stables...you've got issues. Yes, I know I've had my issues this season. I blame @LouisEly😜
