2-3 months ago it wasn’t clear if his stuff was going to be good enough to get MLB hitters out and now it would genuinely hurt to see him pitching for any other franchise next year

I would rather have Woody extended than Peralta

I would also prefer for him to start Game 1 of a playoff series

Remember back in May when we were certain that our hitting coaches were out of touch and needed to be fired?

I don’t know how you get a top 3 NL scoring offense out of these random hodgepodge lineups.

And our pitching coaches also in game 1 vs NY Yankees.

Good news for the Brewers bullpen:

Zastryzny has passed the IL benchmarks and is headed to Nashville to begin his rehab stint. Big news for the overall depth.

The cubs fans must be beside themselves    The cubs have a legitimately good team and the brewers are still ahead of them

its still a 50/50 proposition who is going to win the division but it has to frustrating as hell for them

Great game…and this is how we should hit against poor pitching anyway. Have to keep the foot on the gas.
The Cubs series will determine whether or not these injuries are going to reverse our fortunes.

But, for now, absolutely loving how the Crew is taking care of business.

I've given up explaining why the Brewers are where they are.  So much about it doesn't make sense but here we are.  As for the Cubs, beyond the first four hitter in their lineup and one or two starters, the rest of that team seems very mediocre to me.

Phillies only two games behind Chicago. Padres will probably play inspired baseball the rest of the way, too.

All I remember is bunting with 2 outs and a man on 3rd. 🤪

I also remember last weekend when he looked at called third strikes both Saturday and Sunday.

I am not a disciple of all of the fancy metrics so I am skeptical of charts and graphs that profess to show that a player isn’t as bad as his results indicate. Without some explanation of what is average, or very good, or excellent the numbers are as meaningful to me as a doctor telling me what my LDL reading is without explaining what is normal and what is too high or too low..

But, in Siegler’s case,he could be better than his results indicate and still be pretty bad.

How on earth did Easton McGee keep his roster spot after last night’s horrid 9th inning?

Well that's interesting. Don't know what to think of that. I guess we'll have to wait until the post-game interviews to get any type of read here.

Murphy’s postgame comments sounded hauntingly similar to his comments about Chourio’s injury.

Sounds like an aggravation of his meniscus injury. I would expect an IL stint.

PCA with his 4th strikeout of the day to end the Cubs game.  Fly the L

And the winning pitcher for the O's is a guy we dealt to them back in April. Yet ANOTHER good trade😛.

Clap for the Wolfram..........

Why? Has she been wrong before? Just curious …

It’s not that she’s wrong, but the information the Brewers give her often  makes the injuries sound less serious than they turn out to be.

The only thing of value is what body part is involved

Well that stinks. Thanks for the update.

What? He said it was the same reason Sal missed 3 games earlier this year. If it's the same thing Sal didn't need an IL stint for earlier this year, why would you expect an IL stint this time?

He said it was an injury to the meniscus that happened when he swung the bat and his spike stuck. So, it’s an injury in the same area, but not necessarily the same severity..

Like with Chourio he made a comment to the effect of waiting to see what the doctors have to say . He then made some comment about how having both Frelick and Chourio on the IL at the same time would cut into the OF depth.

His words and tone gave me the impression that he is expecting Frelick to go on the IL. Maybe I read it wrong.

To each their own. My own impression was that Murphy seemed more worried about Chuorio. I believe Curt Hogg asked him "spasm means worst case scenario avoided?" and Murphy firmly and adamantly said we have to wait and see. Intonation very much "I wouldn't say that, and I'm not going to comment further."

A bit different with Sal since Murphy offered day-to-day.

But, yeah, this is all just searching for something to go on. We are still okay in the OF for right now, but hopefully Sal isn't out much longer than a couple days.

Yeah, but exit velocity and stuff...

How about those starting pitchers the Cubs got at the deadline?
