I was watching my friend's kid's little league game last week and I'd love the Brewers to face either of those two teams.

Those 10 year olds wouldn't stand a chance.

I tried……I just can’t root for the Cubs to win……even though I know they are a better matchup.

Both teams will be very tough…….and if we lose it will suck.

I worry about the Padres bullpen a lot, the Cubs bullpen is ok but they don't have anyone scary. My answer is I would rather face the Cubs basically because with all the days of in the playoffs that Padres pen will be consistently rested and Miller, Morejon, and Suarez can average like 4 innings a game most of the time. There would be 3 off days before game 3 of the series.

I am thinking we do Freddy game 1, Priester game 2, bullpen game 3 (Misi starts but for like 2-3 innings) and than Freddy, Preister 4/5 since game 4 is 5 days after game 1.

To me its a horse a piece to me who we face but I just despise the Cubs so much nothing would make me feel better than to knock them off there square for good.  Also,  I never have been a fan of any west coast games even though we have home field advantage for the first 2.

Let’s assume the Brewers have a 60% chance of beating either the Padres or the Cubs. The 40% chance we lose to the Cubs in a five game series outweighs any joy of eliminating Chicago.

I don’t even want Michael Busch to hit a leadoff double in game one.

I would say you have Cubs anxiety.

As much as I dislike the Cubs, they are clearly the better matchup IMO. Their pitching, especially without Horton, is significantly weaker than the Pads, and that SD bullpen is really nasty. I understand the angst of potentially tainting the season by losing to the Cubs, but if you were choosing which roster was stronger, without looking at the team names, I'm pretty sure most would say the Cubs are the better matchup

Yeah, this is where I am too. We can't live scared about the Cubs. We're the best team in baseball. The Cubs' bullpen is not that great, and if Horton still isn't available, that's a huge loss on that side too.

Cubs seem more vulnerable. Padres give me the same feeling as AZ, just a relentless slugging team. Perhaps the Brewers are in the Cubs' head a little bit too.

Both the Padres and Cubs have pretty obvious weaknesses. The Cubs' offense is sputtering and has been for quite some time, and the Padres' offense has little to no power.

On the pitching side, the Padres are rolling out the desiccated corpse of Yu Darvish today, while the Cubs are equalling that with Jameson Taillon.

Both teams are quite good, but they have significant warts.

I understand that getting beaten by the Cubs in the playoffs would be absolutely painful to watch. Especially knowing how many Cubs fans will be in the seats. BUT, we have looked so lost against the Padres all year. My guess is because they have a similar style of play to the Crew-- not a homerun hitting team, very fast, great defense and incredible pitching. I don't think the Cubs even know what their style of play is. I think that's why the've been so lost in the second half of the season.
All that to say, I hate both options but I might have to go with the Cubs. Their hitting hasn't been lights-out in the wildcard games, so that gives me hope that they're in their heads right now.

Don't care because if the Brewers play up to their potential, they can beat everybody (obviously - they are the #1 team in the league).

But if I have to choose, I'd prefer the Cubs. Don't want to deal with the Padres' pitching staff.

Ya both teams have legit weaknesses like you mention.

the strength of the padres is going to be that bullpen which gets even tougher with all of the off days. (The cubs do have some good relievers too, but not as scary).

the cubs strength is great defense. Which does hurt us with our contact approach. It just “feels” more beatable than the Padres bullpen though.

And still the MLB disrespects the Milwaukee Brewers.

Major League Baseball released more information Oct. 1 about the upcoming National League Division Series, and we know the Milwaukee Brewers will play Oct. 4 at American Family Field at either 1:08 p.m. or 8:08 p.m.

Weirdly enough, which time wins out hinges on the Boston Red Sox.

If Boston defeats the New York Yankees on Oct. 1 to sweep the wild-card series between the two longtime foes, Boston will play in the early slot against Toronto on Oct. 4. That bumps the Brewers game against the San Diego Padres or Chicago Cubs all the way to 8:08 p.m. CT, which is an hour later than any other home regular-season game.
