So I'm guessing this is the plan:

Ashby hopefully gets through 2

Priester gets the next 4

Koenig gets the 7th

Uribe the 8th

Megill the 9th - assuming Megill is still our closer, if not, then just flip him and Uribe.

Koenig. Uribe and Megill have to get an inning tonight regardless of the score.  They haven't pitched in a legit game for ages, and we have to get them back involved, so they can be effective after game 2.  We have another off day tomorrow, so if they don't pitch again tonight, that is another 2 days without game action.

Just for the record, Koenig did pitch the 8th game 1.

Mostly agree with the sentiment, but I don't nearly care about knocking off rust more than doing whatever it takes to secure a win tonight. My guess is we'll see just about the whole gang in game 3.

Starting this out by stating that I definitely expect Priester to come in following 1-2 innings of Ashby tonight...

However, I don't doubt that Murphy has an option in his back pocket that has Miz coming into this game instead of Priester - and saving Priester for Game 3 in Wrigley.  I can see a scenario where the Brewers find a way to get a couple run lead early again, then Murphy tries to get 3-4 innings from Miz before letting the likes of Uribe, Koenig, Megill and company try to lock down a 2-0 series lead.  That'd be a bit reckless...but IF Miz is going to play any sort of significant role on this pitching staff, IMO at home is the best way to try and use him (buffered by the bullpen on both sides, giving him the opportunity to roll through a lineup 1-2 times if he shows he's on - otherwise you get him out quickly).

For those that didn’t see…..could be Priester or it could be a bullpen game

Saw you posted this just before I hit 'submit' on my last post....I think "bullpen" game could definitely be in the cards if the Brewers get out to a lead early tonight.

Can't really process this ... I was convinced after watching it live that he was out until the WS minimum. He is leading off in Gm2. Incredibly happy... but no longer trust my eyes.

I want no part of Miz if game is tied or we have a lead……..I will be shocked and disappointed if Miz pitches today if the game is close.

It would be hard to dh him for the fact if he does get hurt we lose the dh for the game correct?

I think we can replace him. We just couldn’t move him into the field without losing the DH

Yes, the only way to lose the DH is to put him in the field.

What happens then?  Does the player's spot who gets subbed out become the pitcher's spot?

It will be interesting to see how Chourio responds tonight. When he was on rehab, he played very tentatively because he was concerned that he would aggravate his injury. If he is tentative on the bases and/or in the field, it significantly impacts his value.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yes pitcher hits in the DH  spot if DH. goes into the field.

No, if the DH goes into the field, the pitcher goes into the spot in the batting order of the fielder who was replaced and the team no longer has a DH spot

About to log off until post game (which probably means tomorrow lol), but Chuorio leading off is tentatively good news. Hopefully, he's still mostly himself.

Saw CC juggling his lineup to counter Ashby as opener. Time will tell if that's more moves for the sake of moves or if it pays off. He's definitely pushed a lot of buttons already through 1 game and a pregame. Guessing Turner gets only the one AB. He may not even play the field.

I’m seeing Counsell has replaced Busch with Turner to lead off……if that’s right I’m a bit surprised.

Its not bad counter move.  Turner hits lefties better and they will just pinch hit when a righty comes in.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
