Okay, so this has the makings of a great pitching matchup. Miz has been absurdly good recently, but Ben Brown has taken some real steps forward, and the metrics suggest that ERA isn't completely a mirage.

Brown has been really good against the Brewers. He threw 7 no-hit innings against them in 2024, He has a 2-0 record with an ERA of 1.00 and 19 strikeouts in 3 appearances (18 innings) versus the Brewers in his career.

Brown has mostly pitched in short relief, but he’s made 2 4 innings starts his last two times out of basically shut down the Braves and rangers for 4 innings. Would be a great game for the offense to stick to the “drag him” mentality.

Amazing win last night. If the Cubs can beat Miz today that brings momentum right back to them going into the finale. If we take Gm 2 they might straight melt down. Their Reddit board last night was a treat.

It would be nice to somehow have both Bauers and Vaughn in the line up today.  Bcuz Ben Brown is only a multi inning reliever,  Counsell probably shooting for once through the order with Ben.

I would assume it'll either be Bauers and Mitchell or Bauers and Vaughn, depending on how much Murph cares about getting that LH batter that first AB.

Wind environment looks more neutral tonight. Mostly left to right, 10mph at most We'll see how that holds. Might be some rain too.

Probably a significantly more pitcher-friendly night that last night, especially considering the guys on the bump.

Murph can we pretty please not do the “awww shucks we’re just a bunch of average guys nobody knows us” thing again this year.

I assure you, people do know who Jacob Misiorowski is, who Brice Turang is, who William Contreras is, who Christian Yelich is, etc.

The need for pro athletes as a group to manufacture disrespect and find a way to place a very large chip on their shoulders will always be amusing to me.
