Uribe has a long track record of this type of stuff. He's been suspended multiple times across multiple levels for starting fights. He's an extremely emotional player. He's exaggerated things in the past like his explanation of the Siri situation two years ago. How is someone like that supposed to be a reliable source? It's supposed to be believable because the Cardinals did bad things 20+ years ago? La Russa has been gone for 15 years now. We don't need to pretend it's the same org it used to be.

And I'd also add if what he said was actually true, how is egging them on the right thing to do in that situation? Would that not make it way more likely for them to actually throw at a player tomorrow or in the future? Basically nothing he said makes much sense at all but people are trusting him because he wears a Brewers jersey and don't want to admit the Brewers did something bad or wrong.

Or.........perhaps no one knows the full truth, and they're withholding judgement in the absence of those clear set of facts.

Of course, Brewers fans are going to tend to want to take the Brewers player's side. What a strange concept.

Totally understandable to disagree or even disapprove of how he handled it! Just wild to believe he went out and completely contrived an entire fabrication that he is putting on record in front of his teammates!

The Cardinals have done this much more recently than over a decade ago!! See: Willson Contreras. They are accepted as the most bush league team in sports…..a Brewers fan of all people should know this.

By the way, Murphy is pissed. Can you imagine how apoplectic he would be if he found out Abner just went out and started a lie about the other team after this!?? That would make things so much worse for Abner. Watch the video. He seems somber and takes ownership. This would be a pretty insane lie that he just thought up in detail on the fly!

Willson Contreras has been like this everywhere he's been. That's not a Cardinal thing. It's a Willson Contreras thing. He was like that with Chicago and like we saw this year he's still like that in Boston.

Someone did mention a KRod-like reliever.

Both scum.

Did Uribe drive drunk or beat a woman up in an incident I'm not aware of? Scum?

I really can't believe we're having this discussion over disrespecting BFIB St. Louis Cardinals. Seriously, F that organization forever. I wish Abner would have walked over to their bench, grabbed a bat, and wiped his ass with it. I don't want polite and respectable from my team, especially when it comes to playing the Cubs or Cardinals. I want the loudest, most obnoxious ******** around.

I think that would put you squarely in the minority.

Game report sorry nothing to add about Uribe, didn't even know there was anything going on until after I got home.

Crowd of 33k not bad for a Tuesday night, but based on the lines to get into the stadium you would have thought it was a playoff game and standing room only.  No idea what the hold up was.  It looked like they might have been using new metal detectors.  I don't know if that was the problem.  I will say they might as well get rid of them all together because it looked like everyone was getting waived through without having to put their keys or phones in the little plastic bins.  If you can go through the metal detectors with that much metal and not set them off I'm sure you can sneak in a knife or a gun.

It seemed like several brewers changed up their walk up songs, most notably Contreras and Bauer, but then later in the game it seemed they switched back.  So no idea what's going on there.

I'm not a big fan of the whole tarps off thing, but they are enthusiastic.  In the 9th they were yelling several players names and the players gave them a wave.  They did Mitchell, Frelick, Bauer, Chruio and even Rengifo.  They actually had an announcement in the second inning that if you wanted to participate in that section you should head over to the miller lite landing.  Will see how much legs this thing has.

Nice to have a couple of studs at the top of the rotation.  Best 1-2 punch since prime Burnes and woody?  Or Grenke and Gallardo or CC and Sheets?

I still think Vaughn should not be a platoon player. We need to get his bat in the lineup every day.

I get the trepidation but I would give it a minute yet before suspecting foul play. He has started 14 of 19 since returning from the IL and maybe the Brewers and he thought a day off a week for his hand was appropriate or something like that for the first month... who knows. I do also want his bat in the lineup everyday .., but I think the same about Bauers right now too.

I just think a lineup which includes Vaughn, Bauer's, Yelich is best. This should be an everyday team. I still think we should trade a pitching prospect for another bat.  Lets get away from the Ortiz, Hamilton, Renfigo, Mitchell back half of our order. One or two lame bats at 8 and 9 are fine but when we go into games with 7,8,9 being suspect we are never going to go anywhere.

That makes for a more potent batting order, but the fly in the ointment is that Yelich pretty much has to DH. That puts Bauers in LF, and I wouldn't expect to see that on a regular basis.

Uribe probably heard sh** from the cardinals dugout and he responded.

Was it little over the top? Maybe? But are you a pitcher in that situation with emotions running? No.

Anyone that is a Brewer fan acting all appalled by what he did.. you’re  soft.

I would bet on nothing happening today but will make the 5 game series in St Louis in July when it is 100 degrees rather interesting. The chop is one thing, but then to double down on accusing Marmol is another.

What do you mean? Did he like slam it down or something?

Yeah... but it was different.  It was after he had walked the batter.  His demeanor and the demeanor of Contreras seemed off.  I watched that part of the game on replay and it didn't show anything.

When he did the hip thrusts, I thought that was really weird.  Hopefully he doesn't get pulled and throw a ball over the outfield fence ala Trevor Bauer.

Our bottom half of the lineup may be the worst in baseball history.

Not the worst in history. Not even the worst in their division in 2026. (I am aware you were probably kidding, just love me some Cardinal misery)

This isn't the 80 or 90s. Murph is the dinosaur here.

You guys are all at least somewhat familiar with Andrew Fischer, right? You want him to tone down his emotion? Because I that's going to be something to see. He's going to make so many teams mad and I can't wait.

Are you old enough to remember Tony LaRussa's antics?  People complained about that because they were bush-league.  Murphy was the adult in the room.  He also knows a hell of a lot more than anybody on this board on how to handle young players.  I'll even bet he has coached a few Latin players, too.

The bottom line is the Uribe did something that was inappropriate.  Instead of making a huge scene in the press conference, Murph did say that he was disappointed.  It will be dealt with in house, but Murph did the right thing as the main face of the Brewers by stating the organization's views.  That is why he is the two-time NL manager of the year.  This will be a learning experience for Uribe and if he wants to make content for TikTok videos, he can go play ball somewhere else.

There’s cameras everywhere these days, if the Cards manager was making gestures yesterday someone should be able to find it on video.

Here's to hoping Jomboy does a deep dive. He usually finds this kinda stuff. If more happens today I bet he will do one.
