And he has averaged about 4 WAR per full season since then. Between the ages of 20-22.

He is younger right now, today, than Turang, Contreras, and Frelick were on their debut days.

If he is ascending slowly and not meeting expectations I have no idea what those expectations were.

The topic was his defense.  Not hitting or speed.

Another thing to consider, maybe if Chourio would play one position, he'd be better at figuring out the warning track and wall thing.  Switching between LF and CF probably doesn't help.

I really don't understand why he's surpassed Anderson on the RP depth chart

Be nice if Murphy and his children would be asked these type of questions in the post game pressers...

And as I pointed out, his defense has been fine. Not a liability. Hopefully he can improve it, and I think he can, but if he doesn’t he’s still not a liability.

I don’t think the expectation for his glove was to come in and be a gold glove candidate immediately.

My expectation is for a major league LF to catch a deep fly ball at the wall to help his pitcher & keep his opponent from getting a cheap HR

you were just talking the other day about how nasty he looked in his Brewers debut.

My issue is still his instincts are lacking.

That doesn't mean he should just automatically be moved ahead of Anderson who has been very good at his job. You should have to earn your roles. Also that nastiness does not appear sustainable. His velo has dropped every time he's pitched since Vegas getting closer to his season average.

Kuhnel is an example of why I’m concerned about pitching depth over the next 4 weeks.

Heres a guy who wasn’t in the organization until recently and, because of injuries he is forced into high leverage situations.

if your angry fastball sits at triple digits, you shouldnt be sitting at 92 on your normal fastball

Just a reminder - The Brewers would be ahead 2-1 if Chourio had caught the deep fly ball at the fence rather than jumping into the fence & allowing a cheap HR to Fry. Now Drohan - who pitched well - is not able to get the win today. Hopefully, the Brewers rally & this becomes a moot point.

Holy Crap that was ripped.

Happens when you leave a pitch right down the middle of the plate.

We need more bullpen. The quickest/cheapest way to improve a team.

welp, looks like he didn't take Anderson's role. Anderson got the higher leverage role today.

I'm just guessing, but Murphy seems to be pretty consistent following whatever numbers he and the staff are looking at. So I'm guessing the three guys that were up in the order for Cleveland all had worse success against the pitch arsenal that Kuhnel offers versus the pitch arsenal that Anderson offers. Something like that.
