Webb is having a "down" season for his standards but man he is tough, particularly against the Brewers. He's 5-0 with a 1.79 ERA in 8 career starts vs the Brewers.

Yeah, I always dread the Logan Webb starts, tends to be a miserable experience. At some point we will have some success against him, I just really hope it'll be today...

He's had a few poor to rough starts in July this season. Toronto got to him for five runs in seven innings at the beginning of the month. The Angels put up four runs in six innings last week. Both games were in San Francisco.

Wouldn't mind either of those types of results for the Brewers this afternoon against Webb.

Thomas Pannone starting now. Given they are both lefties and Pannone has been starting in AAA it does not seem like a opener

They had 2 open 40 man spots so just hope Drohan isn’t hurt or something. Think he’ll end up our best long relief option in playoff games

Hoping this is just an opportunity to limit Drohan's innings, and give Pannone a look-see. Fingers crossed.

He pitched 2.2 innings for us in 2023 and was credited for a hold in a game in which we blew a 7-3 7th inning lead in Pittsburgh.

Color me concerned. There was a report that Pannone had joined the team in the dugout yesterday, so something was known. We'll see who goes off the roster - it has to be a pitcher. 

OTOH, with Harrison back soon, if Drohan is hurt, that solves who goes out of the rotation.

Didn’t even consider this til now. Stallings optioned to AAA for Pannone so it’s seemingly not a Drohan injury. Are they shopping him in trades rn???

Tigers do want a young controllable arm in the return for Skubal. Let the speculation begin

Since stallings is the corresponding move I’m hopeful that there’s no major injury concern with Drohan. I’m sure we will learn more before the game.

He would be way more palatable than Henderson, who I absolutely do not want to trade.

I’d imagine this was just giving Drohan and the rest of the pitching staff an extra day of rest. I think they are going to try their best to not have guys start on 4 days rest the rest of this year which will be easier said than done with another 17 in 17 stretch starting on Friday

Looks like just giving everyone an extra day of rest.  Drohan to start Friday in Anaheim (I'll be there for it)
