Plus he’s an A+ jackass so he has that going for him

Just means he's on the all Machado squad.

That might be a good exercise for the board coming up with the best villain lineup in MLB right now.

I have, potentially, a stupid question.

What is the official rule on a walk off situation like we just witnessed in terms of dead ball/advancement pertaining to a challenge extending a game?

One out. Single to left. Turang is ruled safe, Mitchell goes to 3rd, Bauers stopped around 1st to watch.

If the call on the field is overturned, I'm assuming Mitchell to 3rd, Bauers on 1st and we play on.

Is there a scenario where Mitchell can also score on the continuation of the play so if the play is overturned upon review, we still score the winning run with two outs on that play?

I'm assuming I know the answer, I just can't find the rule to verify the game is 'paused' upon Turang being ruled safe if a review is requested.

I'm assuming the game ends when the winning run scores but the possibility of the review process makes it murky for me. If Bauers is able to advance to 2nd after his single during the throw (if he is halfway there or something) - why wouldn't Mitchell also be allowed to continue to another base if he is rounding 3rd during the play?

Just like that up 4 on Dodgers. Gotta hope you don't give any games back head to head this week.

I don't think the Dodgers give two flips about standings or playoff positioning.  As long as they are in playoff possiton, and they really are not threatened in their division, they believe they an take down anyone anywhere.

One would think that eventually the baseball gods will deliver some chaos in the Wild Card series, but the odds of the Phillies/D'Backs/Padres/random other wild card team going into Dodger stadium and taking 2/3 have to be slim to none. Last year all of the slumping Dodgers magically started playing well around September 20.

Agreed however I highly doubt they want to be the 3 seed. Anything can happen in a shortened series.

The key is that the runner are supposed to be placed where they would have been if the correct call had been made.

If Turang had been rightfully out and reversed safe to out on replay, I can’t see a scenario where they would have ruled that Mitchell would have scored if Turang had been correctly ruled out at home.

Btw how do you say bunty in Korean?

Bunt Sae Kim?

AI tells me it is:

번티 Beonti

It says beonteu is bunt and the -y/-ie is added to the end in Korean as well.  So we have Bunty and Beonti.

Certainly the best odds of knocking them out are in a short series. The longer it goes the bigger advantage they have.

What a great read on the last play by Turang…….if he freezes for just a fraction of a second on the line drive single with one out he either has to be held at 3rd or is out at the p.ate.

Jorge Posada is the only guy I can think of off the top of my head that hit after age 30. Ivan Rodriguez maybe?

Most, even the greats, are garbage once they turn the page to 30

Salvador Perez had some pretty good hitting years after turning 30, even while he was still catching half or more of the Royals games.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That all makes sense and my assumption as well, I just am wondering where/if the rule is in writing.

Especially if its a matchup against the Phillies. Wheeler, Sanchez and luzardo is certainly pretty scary in any playoff series let alone a 3 gamrry
