Santana probably wouldn't have been my choice there. Thought for sure they'd use Granderson and save Santana for later.

Granderson may be saved for defense later.

 

They have Broxton for that. Granderson isn't a guy you save for defense. Not a good defender.

Santana is the most useless guy on the bench outside of pinch hitting and you want to save your best LH guys to face their top RPs. Santana pretty easy choice to PH there.

Every bench guy has a purpose. Santana has the best chance to put you up 1-0 out of all of them. Probably your best choice.

 

I would use him later, with guys on if at all possible... The more I think about it, I'm fine with taking Woodruff out, but I wouldn't have burnt Santana in that situation, nope, wouldn't have done it.
