Jacob Melton still on the board, as is Peyton Pallette if the Brewers are willing to take a chance on a TJ-rehab guy.

Drew Thorpe of Cal-Poly gets some Kyle Hendricks comps. (Aaaand the Yankees just picked Thorpe.)

From MLB.com:

Misiorowski has flashed tantalizing potential going back to his Missouri high school days, but he was hard to see prior to 2022. A hamstring injury hampered him on the showcase circuit heading into his 2020 senior season, which got cancelled by the coronavirus pandemic. He tore the meniscus in his right knee in his first start for Crowder (Mo.) JC last spring, ending his season in February, but he returned this season to rank third in NJCAA Division I in strikeouts (136) and strikeout rate (16.1).

Fully healthy again, Misiorowski has hit 100 mph with his four-seam fastball and sat in the mid-90s for several innings at a time. His extension, high spin rates and induced vertical break create carry up in the strike zone, and he might find even more velocity if he can add some muscle to his skinny 6-foot-7 frame. His mid-80s slider features good depth and is a well above-average offering at its best, though it's more of a chase pitch than one he can land consistently for strikes.

Very much a work in progress, Misiorowski primarily operates with two pitches and rarely breaks out a curveball or changeup. The Louisiana State recruit still is learning to keep his long limbs in sync and he needs more strength to repeat his delivery. He started finding the zone more often down the stretch and helped his cause with the most impressive bullpen workout at the MLB Draft Combine, giving him a chance to surpass Aaron Ashby (fourth round, 2018) as the highest pick in Crowder history.

Needs to develop a 3rd pitch, but the upside is there.

If you wanted the Brewers to make an upside play, here it is. This is their Antoine Kelly to Brown's safer Ethan Small. The Brewers have had a fair amount of success with their JUCO pitchers recently. Let's hope it continues here.

The organization has earned the trust with the drafting and developing of pitchers but not so much with position players so I will defer to the highlights I've seen as well as the mostly underwhelming scouting reports saying he needs a swing overhaul.

The Brewers not having any position players in the current MLB lineup really only means they were bad at drafting them in 2016 since Stearns & company arrived.

No first rounder hitter drafted after Hiura in 2017 has a higher WAR so far.

2018 (Turang), 2020 (Mitchell & Wiemer), 2021 (Frelick) and int’l signing Chourio have all made Top 100s at some point & time, so they’ve all been “hits” to this point, it’s just that enough time hasn’t elapsed for them to get to MLB yet for us to start finding out what’s what.

2019 looks pretty rough after Small/Kelly, but even on the position player side David Hamilton was part of the Hunter Renfroe trade, so we have gotten some indirect value on the MLB side already.

6'7" RHP Jacob Misiorowski was ranked #61 on Baseball America's board. Seems very, very projectable.

Astros picking one spot behind the Brewers ended up with Drew Gilbert and Jacob Melton, I do like those two picks.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Bryce Hubbart would be an interesting pick at #72.  Looked great in the Cape Cod league and good K/BB ratio but a little undersized.

This is the type of pick to get excited about. To me its all about upside in the early rounds especially and this kid has it, Probably years away and boy does he need to put on weight but thats a potentially great pick for an organzation that can develop pitching.

doesn't look all that skinny to me

I doubt we have the money available to take Tucker Toman so I'm focused strictly on the college kids.  Give me Jonathan Cannon or Ryan Cermak.  Jake Madden would be another interesting JUCO pitcher also.

For what it is worth, Fangraphs is probably going to be a big fan of the Brewers draft. Misiorowski 24, Brown 35.

Believe catcher Cade Hunter (#40) and C/1B Malcolm Moore (#41) are still on the board.

Well, more fuel to the "small automated strike zone" draft theory...

If you believe his 2021 is more reality there might be something there.

Well if you didn't like Eric Brown's offensive stats this year...
