Are Brewers games blacked out across the entire state?

can fans without Bally’s purchase the MLB App subscription (which I’ve done for many years)?

Yes, they are only available on Ballys, which has been dropped off of cable providers channel listings except for a couple.  In my area the only way I could get games through a cable provider is Direct TV.  Our city cable does not carry Bally's, which means the 3 bars in town don't have games on.  I used to have YouTube TV but they dropped the channel as well.  I subscribe to the Bally's streaming service but the casual fan won't.

I keep hearing Rock and others say 1B is 3 inches closer to home plate this year. I don't think that is correct. I believe it's an inch and a half closer to home plate and an inch and a half closer to the outfield. The distance between each base (1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd) is 3 inches shorter however.

Turang with a fantastic PA. Chased that first changeup but then laid off the next two. Immediately follows it up with a steal as well.

Is that even true? Wouldn't it just be 3 inches towards the outfield? The goal wasn't to make it shorter to get to first.

The base should still be centered, so I would assume 1.5 inches each way home to outfield.  It is on the edge of the foul line which can't move so it should be the full 3 inches towards 2nd base.

I would have to imagine the post is still centered on the base, thus, any change is equally distributed on all four sides.

It can't be equally distributed on all 4 sides though, you can't move the foul line, and the base isn't going to stick over 1.5 inches.  So that way I would think is a full 3 inches closer to 2nd.

Winker so far has been the poster boy for the value of putting the ball in play over swinging for the fences.

Not what I expected based on his performance  with the Reds.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That's almost certainly true, but they had to move the post hole regardless. It's about where is the new hole.

I was merely referring to the general size of the base. It pretty much has to make the distance between 1st and home shorter. That wasn't a goal, but just something that had to happen to make the distance to second shorter.

I noticed Turang had the oven mitt on his right hand, but slid into the base with his bare left hand reaching for the base. Is that normal? Why wear the glove, then?

??? Winker has always been one of the better contact hitters in the sport...Power (until last year) and contact.

It has kind of always been his thing. Outside of 2020, he never has had a strikeout rate above 19% and before last season his career BA was .288

You don’t shy from controversial takes.

Yep. So refreshing to have a guy who gets on base and makes contact at the top of the lineup.
