Some extremely intriguing P/S adds today for the Packers. Getting CB Kamal Hadden as a Hafley perimeter man CB prospect for peanuts is pretty friggin' awesome. He's a true outside man guy with big time size. KC was using him in the slot this pre-season and it was super head-scratching. He is an outside guy all day every day. FB/H-Back Andrew Beck as a late add is perdy dang sweet. Beck can still do a lot of things and he's a pretty dang good H-Back/FB type. RB La'Mical Perine is certainly no longer an exciting prospect but he's a solid replacement for McCrary going on P/S IR - not much to expect here but perhaps worth a look.

Perine looks 100% like a "ready to play now" RB backup given our injury situation.  Just get someone in that can do basic pass blocking, gain a few yards, and not fumble emergency fill in type.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Just checked latest depth chart, Rhyan listed at RG starter. The shoulder injury really set Morgan back I guess. Wilson starter at LB not Cooper. Only Bullard cracked starting lineup among rookies. Stokes is the starter at CB. I can’t wait for Friday..

Also, Slaton listed as starter not Wyatt. I guess on first down Packers going big up front.

I read somewhere that Rhyan and Morgan will rotate in the game - similar to our RG last year.  My guess is that this will allow Morgan to ease back in and take the starting position when he is ready.

It's game week, chuckleheads.

It is extremely exciting to see where the brass thinks this team is at. When Gute starts letting a bunch of his own draft picks go, shortens the leash on non-performers (especially kickers), and decides we don’t have as much roster room for UDFA project types, that tells me two things: one, the roster is full of talent to the point that even improving on the margins is getting tougher, and two, it is go time.

I expect a couple bumps in the early going as the defense finds its legs (I think we probably drop the opener in Brazil, and maybe even the home debut, too—don’t panic!) but if this team is healthy, they should be right where they need to be in December.

I read somewhere that the wild fires don't impact the city of Sao Paulo that much because it's elevation is half mile above sea level.

It seems like they have a short window to make a decision if they wanted to move it to Philly and keep the Friday night game. Add to it that the NFL really wants these international games I don't see them moving it.

On another note anyone else sick of hearing about the Bears all offseason? I usually watch the NFL network shows and they get more coverage than anyone. I think they have reason to be optimistic but let them play some games before crowning them.

Yeah, the media is already crowning Caleb Williams the next Tom Brady when he hasn't even taken one meaningful snap in the NFL yet. Some of them are doing the same thing with Richardson in Indy based on a very small sample size. I've never been sold on Williams and if there's an NFL team that knows how to ruin quarterbacks, it's the Bears.

He's an incredible talent, but...if there is a team that can ruin him, it's the Bears.

He plays undisciplined and he looks for the big play too much. He's a rookie, so relatively minor knocks at this point, but...still.

If I was the Bears...I think I'd have kept Fields rather than trade him for a 6th, let Williams sit for a year...but I get nobody really does that on purpose with a guy who's as decorated as Williams(and he may have insisted on going elsewhere as he initially did or was rumored to have done).

Funny you said this. Just yesterday I watched this vid and the GOAT was commenting on this, and IMO the GOAT hit the nail on the head.

I WAS going to add to that post(and then deleted it) that I think we'd have been in a lot of trouble if we'd have to start either of the last 3 guys in year 1.

I was looking at it much more from a Green Bay POV, but listening to Brady...what they're doing, maybe Atlanta with Penix, it might be the way to go? Or at least just have more patience and build around these guys. The Packers gave Favre a much longer leash years ago. His 3rd year he threw IIRC 19 TDs, 24 INTs and in today's game, he'd be like Justin Fields most likely. So now you're pretty much demanding a guy come in at 21-22 and perform immediately in most cases?

Favre started the soonest and he was all instinct, but made awful decisions and played in a simpler...but MUCH more physical era.

Rodgers...I feel like people forget how funky he looked. He got a lot of the criticism Love got. Not as much, but he looked pretty bad with that high tight, and funky delivery.

Love, we all remember. He could be out of the league at this point. I don't think he was more ready than a guy like Zach Wilson, but Wilson isn't playing.

I think Tom Clement has done so much to do exactly what Brady is talking about along with MLF, lucky to be a Packers fan.

I don't know if the game is getting worse though...I think you see more just REALLY talented players, but there are definitely guys who would probably have done much better in better situations. Trey Lance should have sat 3 years. Never should have been expected to start so quickly...and there are a ton of examples.

It makes CJ Stroud's season last year that much crazier(though I still like Love better).

Sure would be nice to see the Packers win against the Colts. Then just win one of the next three games and you are 2-2 without Love. That seems very realistic and doable.

One of very few encouraging things about Friday night was that they did clamp down Hurts running the ball which was very refreshing for a Packers defense. Of course that was about the only thing they clamped down. I am expecting the Packers offense to be absolutely terrible without Love, so yeah, if they can gut out a couple 17-14 wins and he is actually able to come back that fast, there may not be a lot of damage done.

MLF just said in his press conference that the door is still open for Jordan to possibly play on Sunday. Maybe he's just being coy and I would expect Willis to start but it definitely looks to me like it's trending to be shorter term than we had feared.

That seems…borderline insane? I mean, yeah, 70%, maybe even 60% of Love is better than anything else we’ve got, and I know it’s his front leg, but if he’s a statue back there and the line struggles again, look out. Not sure I want to rush the franchise back quite that soon unless he’s got a decent amount of mobility. I think they have a shot at this thing Sunday even with Cliff under center, and 0-2 isn’t fatal, especially in a 17-game season. But I guess we’ll see.

I’m still thinking smoke screen here. We’ve played a lot of injury games with guys like Aaron Jones and Christian Watson, and this feels like more of the same.

Yeah, I am dumbfounded at the insistence on Malik Willis as the preferred backup. What an absolutely damning indictment to Clifford's abilities if he can't beat out a guy who hasn't even been here a month.

If week 1 looked ugly, we may need new vocabulary for week 2. I guess we can only hope we find a way to win ugly.

This really isn't a bad injury. He wears a brace, his mobility will be limited...again, Aaron Jones, same injury, 2-3 weeks and that's for a RB who has to cut.

The only thing that scares me is DeForrest Buckner, but we faced the best DL we'll face until...maybe SF? I don't know, who's got a better DL than Philly?

I also don't think Love will play this week, but I think he'll be back sooner than later.

I don't think they should play a 60% Love...but a 80% Love? I don't know. Love is similar to Rodgers. When Rodgers played with injuries, he'd get the ball out quickly, he'd be throwing on rhythm, things he wasn't doing last week. Might be good for him. 9 days off. I'm not betting on it though.

Dude...Tyson Bagent won two games for the Bears. Mediocre backups can win games...

We'd need our D to play great, run the ball and he'd need to make some plays with his legs.

I don't think it's crazy to think he could beat the Colts or Titans. He's also got a great deep ball. So...meh, that could help since you know they'd be crowding the box. You'd have to win ugly, but Willis is an amazing athlete...maybe that's enough. He's not going to pick apart defenses, but he may not need to.

They cut Clifford and traded for Willis. If there was damming indictments, it was at that point.

I'd be looking at Huntley from the Ravens personally. He's on the PS...but he's very similar to Willis.

Reading MLF's comments I do think there is a chance this week. Love must be feeling better for them to be considering it. The extra 2 days might be the difference if it is really not that bad of a sprain. Sure, I get keeping the Colts guessing but if I was to bet I would say he will be back by the Titans game now.
