The Brewers had better sweep the series.  If there is a game three, they'll be throwing the first pitch just about the time our flight to Appleton takes off from Vegas.
And I'm pretty sure Allegiant doesn't offer in-flight wi-fi.

The reason the Brewers said game three is TBD is because the only way game three is actually played at 7:30 is if all four series go three games, which is pretty unlikely.  It could be played at 2:00, 3:00 or 6:00 depending on what other series goes three games.

I want to see the winner of the first game of Monday's doubleheader have the raucous champagne celebration, then come out for Game 2 intoxicated.

Who do you guys want to play?

I wanted them to play the Nats in 19, the Braves in 21, and was feeling pretty good about the Dbacks last year, so I will sit this question out.

Mets, clearly. 5-1 against them and a losing record against the Diamondbacks. Plus. they'll have just played two games today. Obviously, it's always "be careful what you wish for," but I think it's an easy choice.

I hate having to play the team that hasn’t been in the playoffs for a while, especially a feel good story like the Mets. My vote would be to play the Dbacks.

My preferences for today's outcomes (best to worst):

  • Atlanta wins game 1, Mets win game 2 - Mets have to use whatever resources necessary in both games before facing us tomorrow

  • Mets win game 1, Atlanta wins game 2 - We still face a Mets team that had to play a doubleheader today

  • Mets win game 1, Mets win game 2 - We have to play the Diamondbacks on normal rest and outside chance of facing the Mets in the NLCS, which is preferable to the outside chance of facing the Braves
  • Braves win game 1, Braves win game 2 - We have to play the Diamondbacks on normal rest and outside chance of facing the Braves in the NLCS, which is less preferable than the outside chance of facing the Mets

Excuse me while I google the definition of "feel good story", as I think we may be using different dictionaries.

Now that we've had 8 wild card series...

7/8 have been sweeps.

The 3/6 series has gone 2-2. The 4/5 series has gone 1-3 in favor of the 5-seed.

Mets were in the playoffs 2 years ago.

Tyrone Taylor causing havoc on the basepaths this inning. What a wild infield hit he just had. Spinning ball off of the end of the bat that was at least 10 feet foul and spun back in. Then, stole second, went to third on a groundout.

And, before I was done typing, he got stranded at third.

So is the perfect Brewer scenario for the Braves to win Game 1, then the Mets to have to throw Severino and their "A" lineup in a Game 2 elimination game? AND THEN FOR THE METS TO WIN THE SECOND GAME

Tweaked it a bit for ya ;) Assuming a split does occur, that's definitely the preferred outcome. That said, I have a very uneasy feeling about the Mets in a game 2 must win situation for whatever reason, just seems like it would fit their team lore to lose both of these games even with the Braves sitting all their starters in the second game 😬

If the Mets lose the 2nd game, it's whatever for me. The Dbacks are not some juggernaut and have spent the last week blowing an 8 run lead to us and then struggling with the mediocre Giants and a Padres team playing for nothing.

The Mets are not looking good in this game. It's also raining, but radar suggests it won't be enough to trigger a delay.

The Brewers when playing well can beat every team in the MLB and when playing poorly can lose to any team in the MLB. We just need to play good baseball and things will take care of itself regardless of oppponent.

We just want to give it our best shot, and the good lord willing, things will work out...
