Not Brewers related but man I really hope attitudes like this start becoming the norm from team owners. Being a fan has become ridiculously expensive with ticket/food/merchandise prices skyrocketing. It's time for franchises to start caring more about the fans that make their leagues possible. Without us their franchise valuations wouldn't be skyrocketing. Their revenues wouldn't be skyrocketing.

It is a nice thought but you are asking the most alpha business people amongst us (owners) to think in terms outside of supply and demand, which is actually impossible in a lot of cases.

Most only know one form of communication. "If they don't buy the hot dogs we will lower the price until they do. If they buy the hot dogs, we will raise the price until they don't."

I believe your plea is more appropriate to the fan bases who continue buying, because in the owner's eyes we are agreeing that the prices are fair because their inventory keeps moving.

No price is too low for Dasani Water but those are very reasonable prices for some of the others, lower than high school or even youth hockey concession prices.

Let's just say that I don't think that this is completely unrelated to a certain recent incident in New York City, and that's all I'm going to say.

Didn't one of the Atlanta teams do basically the same thing and have it work out really well for them?

While I think that has been plenty influential in many ways, I don't think it is here. The Ishbia brothers have been doing interesting stuff since they bought the Suns in 2023. The most impactful thus far has been far more costly than concessions prices: they put a bunch of their games over the air, free to watch. They even had a program to ship fans free antennas to get the games.

The Mets signing Juan Soto???

I will say I would be in favor of a version of "surge" pricing at the stadium.

Weekdays bring the pricing down to encourage ticket sales and make the experience more affordable. Then weekdays do whatever you want with the full stadium.

I do understand weekends are when families typically are able to go together so this doesn't help that situation all too well... But it is a bit of a compromise at least.

It’s nice they made some snacks cheaper, but don’t be fooled that it’s some magnanimous overture; the high profit margin items (alcohol) are still full price and even at $2.00 they’re probably still making 100% profit on hot dogs and pop corn.

Definitely. $2 for a 16oz fountain soda that is 1/3 ice is still probably an 500% margin I would guess.

Regardless of the profit margin or motive, this is a good thing for Suns fans.

Some of you clearly have not been in the entertainment business before or at least recently. They are not making much if anything on those prices.

I had no idea that the NBA TV ratings have dropped as much as they have.

https://www.nysun.com/article/nba-cup-final-faces-uphill-battle-to-end-slumping-tv-ratings

Ratings for TV sports (and TV in general) are down across the board over the timeframe cited in the article.

NBA set attendance and revenue records again last season even if fewer and fewer people are paying for cable nowadays.
